Singapore authorities are moving to auction seized luxury goods and high-end jewelry from a S$3 billion money laundering case that involved the use of USDT. The first two batches of assets to be auctioned include over 600 branded handbags, accessories, and jewelry, with an estimated value between S$2.9 million and S$3.9 million. The auction house plans to conduct a total of 15 timed online auctions, continuing until mid-2027. The case came to light in 2023 when Singaporean police arrested 10 foreign nationals across the island, seizing or freezing assets exceeding S$3 billion. Previously, authorities disclosed that one of the accused, Su Baolin, had received funds from offshore illegal online gambling operations via USDT. The attacker used the BridgeV2 receive function to mint approximately 2^62 raw units of syBTC. This resulted in a nominal value of ~$46.1 billion in syBTC.
