2 weeks with 0 attendees... I think I may have tapped out the extent of my little reach for community-hosting interest among existing/connected Nostr users for the time being. Moving forward, I will make demonstration day the first Thur of each month, with all of my other dedicated time slots devoted to personalized walk throughs & followup sessions. Happy to schedule demo sessions with anyone who may find their interest piqued in between dates, as well. Just let me know and we can schedule something.
I think I am mostly prepared to start taking this to the off-nostr world. Need to prepare some materials. I really appreciate the attendence up to this point from both genuine users with a goal in mind and the more techie types who've hit me with the hard questions and big ideas. It's been an excellent 2 months of weekly sessions. It's just time to turn down the frequency and devote attention to keeping the momentum we've built.
Nostr Study Group will continue unabated and unabashed. Tuesdays, 13:00 UTC :)
I just had one of my strangeness with strangers moments in the grocery store. A guy got in front of my shopping cart and grabbed it to stop me. I was immediately nervous. His whole neck was tattooed, he had a huge scar that ran from the corner of his mouth to his ear on one side of his face, that stout prison weightroom type of build, intense stare, damn near a foot taller than me. He said "How are you doing? "
In the back of my mind, I was thinking this guy was either going to ask me for money, ask me out on a date, or possibly maybe mug me in the cheese aisle ๐
I reluctantly replied, "good, and you?"
He said, "good. This July weather. It's hot. How are you wearing all black?" I said I was just used to it.
He went on to tell me that he is moving to Philadelphia in August, to stay with his brother (who's girlfriend just had a baby). He said the city will be very hot because it is radiating heat. I asked if he had ever lived there before. He said yes and that he misses it. I told him that I hope it goes well. He said thanks, told me to have a good evening, let go of my cart, and walked off.
