The Axial Precession and the Apsidal Precession together create a cycle between glaciation, or so-called ice ages, with an average duration of about 23,000 years. This cycle gives rise to the four great seasons of the Great Year, or the four ages of man, the Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age, which correspond to the four Yugas.
Usually, the Iron Age or Kali Yuga is associated with the cold, glacial period of the cycle.
The ancient esoteric knowledge divides this process into 24,000 years — 12,000 years associated with light (day) and 12,000 years associated with darkness (night).
The Last Glacial Maximum occurred between 20,000 and 24,000 years ago, which places us right within the zone for global cooling.
