It’s a real Ice Age woolly mammoth tusk, anywhere between 10,000 and 20,000 years old!!
The carving itself is modern, done by highly skilled Chinese ivory craftsmen in the late 20th century.
Because mammoth ivory is legal (unlike elephant ivory), these tusks became a major medium for elaborate carving in China during that period.
This beauty was up for auction a few weeks ago at Artvisory Australia.
