Amidst the normal high-quality rubble of a @Magoo PhD space the other night, he mentioned something very important. I’ll try not to butcher it…
He said that the current Bitcoiners today are not the warriors of Bitcoin’s ultimate fight, but more shepherds. That our kids’ kids’ kids will be the warriors who will fight Bitcoin’s ultimate battle.
I agree for the most part, with one key varying interpretation. I believe the current adoption and signaling underway, during this cycle, presents an opportunity to shepherd, that will forever influence the future battle that will be fought.
We can all agree the fundamental laws of any society, such as constitutional laws, core beliefs etc, are critical to the following laws built following.
Our opportunity, as shepherds, is to introduce the current wave of adopters to the core principles and base layer of the Bitcoin protocol. Decentralization. Scarcity. Privacy. Self-custody, trustless peer-to-peer capabilities, and so on.
There is a battle going on now. A battle for our attention. Many in this cycle want you to focus primarily on Bitcoin as a pristine digital asset. That it’s monetary value is the most important aspect of all. That sacrificing privacy, decentralization, even self-custody is ok to hold up the value of Bitcoin. However, our challenge, as shepherds, is to remind every adopter, that those values on the alter of the governments, bankers, custodians etc are the true foundations that provide value to #Bitcoin .
We must continue to move the base layer of Bitcoin values into the hearts, minds, and comprehension of every Bitcoin adopter. They must continue to be understood, maintained, ans strenghtened.

It’s Election Day in 2024 for the primaries and I have to drive my paper ballot in my car to a drop box at the post office. Same process as during the civil war.
Meanwhile, at only 14 years of age, #Bitcoin makes it possible to send money anywhere in the world instantly, without permission and securely.
Decentralized is the only way to get shit done around here
