Thereβs so much cope around DeepSeek.
They didnβt just release an incredible model; they also introduced a groundbreaking training method (R1 Zero) thatβs already being replicated.
I highly doubt they lied about the training costs, but even if they did, theyβre still amazing for giving the world this incredible gift.
Their models are also open source. You can download them.
If you have X installed on your phone, even if you're not using it, its 'inferred identity' setting will still track all your activities. it is turned on by default.
You should turning it off right now or deleting X app altogether.
NostrDB is probably one of the most important projects on Nostr.
If we can make it easily portable for Android, web apps, and PC, it will truly provide developers with a way to offer a more reliable and smooth experience.
IMO, we should do everything we can to make this possible.

meta confirmed, they're adding tons of ai-generated users to Instagram & Facebook!

i have to admit, bluesky has been the biggest disappointment. i was looking forward to it even before i knew nostr existed, joining its wishlist a full year before it launched.
and now? the same 4 people who built the protocol also built its flagship client & are hosting the entire thing on their server. if those 4 decided to take a break, the so-called "protocol" would vanish overnight.
seriously, what was the point of all this?
elon was never about free speech. with him and the paypal mafia running the admin, we're on the brink of the most advanced censorship campaign ever. they have the tools, the expertise, and the insiders to pull it off.
this is exactly why nostr matters more than ever.
when it comes to primal, i donβt personally have an issue with their approach as long as they remain transparent, which they are.
theyβve even open-sourced their caching server. as long as they never take my keys to the server, iβm okay with it.
i believe theyβre genuinely trying to deliver the best possible user experience, and i respect that. i sincerely hope they succeed along with other clients.
also, no, itβs not a silo, itβs a river & we've a ocean ahead!
Nostr, BlueSky, and Twitter takeover all kicked off around the same time, promising free speech.
But here's where we stand:
BlueSky? A censorship disaster-worse than Facebook and Tumblr combined.
X (Twitter)? Musk's "free speech" pledge? It's in total shambles. If you still believe in it, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
Only Nostr has stayed true to its mission. It's the last real free speech alternative. If that's what brought you here, congrats-you made the right choice.
