I explore & build stuff on β„•ostr | Certified in Cloud, Code & CyberSec | I spread #Positivity & discuss things/ideas. Building fanfares.io
I want to get Nostr Keep wrapped up this weekend. Next week we have a really huge fanfares.io release coming, and I’m genuinely excited about it. I don’t want to spoil anything yet, but it’s shaping up to be one of our biggest updates so far in terms of features. And the funny thing is, the update after that is even bigger. Lots of exciting things ahead.
Upcoming feature for Nostr Keep: End-to-end encrypted collaborative notes. Just add the public keys of the people you want to collaborate with, You can invite multiple users, and once they accept the invitation, everyone can work on the same note together in real time. View quoted note β†’
Nostr Keep now supports Markdown, OLED mode, archives, labels, and a recycle bin. Next up is Google Keep import, so users can migrate their existing notes, followed by end-to-end encrypted note collaboration using Nostr. image View quoted note β†’
I had an old Android phone lying around, so I turned it into a small CDN/server. Now I’m wondering how practical Android phones actually are for running long-term servers. Has anyone tried this seriously?
I don’t keep sensitive stuff on Google Keep, but with Google’s track record, I fully expect them to either shut it down someday or slowly turn it into an ad platform. View quoted note β†’
Something I wanted to build for myself, but I think some of you might also like it. Nostr Keep: it's like Google Keep, except your notes are encrypted on-device before being published to Nostr relays instead of being stored on Google’s servers. It is designed to be offline-first, with Nostr mainly used for syncing notes across devices and possibly collaboration features in the future. Hopefully I’ll publish it publicly on Nsite sometime this weekend. image
Managed to reach around two-thirds of the climb during this expedition, which was roughly the target this time. The summit attempt will need more preparation, the right gear, and a good weather window, Hopefully sometime this year. image View quoted note β†’
One of the best things about Nostr is that If a client starts censoring users, I can simply move to another client, change my NIP-05 and wallet, and never touch that app again.
I genuinely think one of the biggest ideological divides of the future will be accelerationism vs. decelerationism. Every other social and political issue will be overshadowed by it. My guess? Acceleration wins, because somewhere, someone is always willing to press the button harder.
One of my first Nostr projects, and today I finally gave it a proper upgrade. Enter your pubkey, add custom relays, and it syncs your data across them. Or just hit backup and broadcast to pull your data from active relays, save it, and push it everywhere again. Even if relays go down or events disappear, you can always bring them back and spread them further.
