Batarians are the niggers of the Mass Effect universe. They are ugly, violent brutes that don't fit in with the rest of civilization. There are multiple times in the series where you have a decision to make whether to spare Batarians or not but if you do it's always the wrong choice that gets many others killed. You'll never see such comparisons in video games anymore.
