Confirmations and failures: event still ongoing. -FRS radios are insufficient for communication within community. Not enough HAM operators to make use of locally. Boosted CBs seem the likely solution for my situation. -my supply of gas/propane was indeed not as ridiculous as I was teased about prior to this event. 😜 -more chainsaws. more chains. -dual fuel lanterns/stoves are invaluable. -battery banks were insufficient. -food stores/resources on hand were more than adequate. -security and vehicle access seems adequate. Luckily not fully tested, but vigilant. -water redundancy was crucial. Lost a well head at the onset. Open well and water storage proved necessary. -additional generators needed. Had one fail almost immediately.

Folks in Upstate SC and Western NC. Real likelyhood that cell towers go down in next 24/48 due to diesel constraints. I trust the source. Make contact and real plans with those you need to. @Guy Swann @Jess Sowards

Managed a nice little walkway. Only a 150’ 200 year old oak. No big deal. Everything is fine. 🫠

We remain without power. Folks are acting as folks do when they’re panicked. Looting closed business. Fight at gas stations. Wasting valuable resources on stupid shit. Oh.. and emergency services are non-functional. Shocker. Always be prepared to take care of what’s important to you. No one is coming to save you. Meanwhile, for us, it’s cleanup and caring for the farm. Not a single animal was lost. Goats are happy to help with the cleanup.

So much damage. Trees on the house/car. Power out. No injuries, so a win. Will be going out shortly to access the scale of the damage. Pictures should be epic. An intense morning. Nature is a marvel. So much power. We prepared. Now we get to work to repairing.
