Claude is also relatively easy to pay for, but Anthropic will block your account afterward. Gemini is the hardest to pay for 😬 Right now I'm trying to figure out how to pay for Google AI Pro at least for a month, and none of the options look appealing. Even though Google changed their mind about moving my account to Russia and left it registered in Sweden, they're still very picky about payment methods.

Software development for #meshtastic is extremely unpleasant. There isn't much ready-made code in Go, and what does exist is low quality. ChatGPT barely knows anything about Meshtastic. I can't stand TypeScript, and ultimately once you start talking about JS, you end up in the browser — and I have absolutely no desire to work with browsers. Yes, there's Python. But I haven't written anything in it for years, and I'd prefer to keep it that way for just as long.

Bitchat bridges in Meshtastic/MeshCore are the dumbest and most useless thing I've seen all week. Yes, Briar had something like that too, but Briar isn't called BitBriar, so I see no point in even talking about it.

I didn't like it — neither TypeScript itself, nor the Meshtastic libraries, nor how poorly they are documented. On GitHub I found an enthusiast's project in Go where he works with the node via a driver. I'll see what I can do with that. For now, I have an idea for a Meshtastic-based book reader bot (BookClub).
