How pencils are made. This is a modern version of the production process — there’s no visible graphite dust anywhere. In more traditional factories, it tends to be embedded into the walls and floors like a permanent layer. They didn’t show how the lead is made here, but I assume that part is clean as well. It’s a solid company — their pencils are top-tier. There are some questions about the source of the wood; obviously, American cedar isn’t grown for them in Tokyo. But overall, these guys are doing well, and their pencils are very affordable. A wooden-bodied lead holder costs a little over 300 rubles.
