what you say, what you do, and what you feel are the only things you have control over.
the last one is worth paying attention to
art pieces that are related to social relationships and ingroup signaling are very valuable in the moment but one of the worst in terms of long term value unless the ingroup becomes a dynasty
I wanna do some xmas caroling this year, if anyone can send me events in austin that need altos please hit me up!
love it or hate it: jack dorsey sponsoring lukeโs pool was the biggest accelerationist act of the decade in terms of moving the chess board forward for bitcoin protocol design around tx relay and block construction
watching the price run and god damn do people love to feel like theyโre part of a larger thing than themselves (thatโs moving in the right direction)
one time i worked at a really great coding camp, and we had an off week without students
i decided i wanted to clean out the coat closet and turn it into a cozy spot for meetings. the space was an open floor plan and meeting spots were in high demand.
i spent the majority of the week moving stuff out, coordinating give aways of leftovers, another coworker painted it, i rented a car and made hardware store runs for supplies.
while i was doing all this, the majority of my coworkers hung out and had important conversations about how to improve the space.
i dont think anything they planned or discussed came to pass
the cleaned out coat room was well loved and saw a few different makeovers before the org moved to a new location
conversations are important, but action matters more
it sucks to know youโre building the best thing you can and that people are probably going to feel threatened by that
got reminded of this explainer I wrote 5y ago about how RBF works
