Today I came across this product called Turbo Nicotine Pouches. These small pouches are marketed as a tobacco-free alternative, but that doesn't mean they are harmless.
Many nicotine pouch products can: ❌ Lead to nicotine addiction ❌ Increase heart rate and blood pressure ❌ Cause gum irritation and mouth problems ❌ Trigger headaches, dizziness, or nausea ❌ Make it difficult for users, especially young people, to quit nicotine
What concerns me most is that these products are becoming more common and are often sold with attractive packaging that can appeal to teenagers.
This raises an important question:
If nicotine is addictive and harmful, why are products like these still widely available? Why don't governments around the world enforce stricter regulations or bans, especially to protect young people?
Some countries have already restricted or banned certain nicotine pouch products, while others regulate them instead of banning them. Governments often balance public health concerns with existing laws, taxation, and the argument that some adults use these products as an alternative to smoking. Because of these different approaches, international policies are not the same everywhere.
Protecting public health—especially our youth—should always be a priority.
