The bird app is pure slop now, but it's still hard for me to recommend nostr to many of my frens there because it still lacks a few things: - decent private Group Chat - libtards to mock in those private Group Chats - fag friendly onboarding (based gay guys aren't very tech savvy) The first is easily solved, the second is more a feature than a bug and the third is a question of onboarding. It's my 2025 resolution to bring my frens along, but with these guys you only get one shot at it, so I need to make it count!

For me, the biggest realization of 2024 was that I had been sleeping on bitcoin for all the wrong reasons. I'd believed the FUD which had stopped me from looking too deeply and the behavior of shitcoiners made it worse. It wasn't until I worked on a project with a old skool hodlr and fellow activist that I learned that bitcoin was more than just another cryptocurrency, that it was a whole philosophy and one that actually vibed very much with my own. Satoshi wrote a manifesto in code and built the most powerful freedom movement the world has ever seen. It's not just that bitcoin was the first, but that it was designed to liberate us from the tyranny of the state and the banking cartels that makes it different from all the rest. The frauds, the rent seekers and the naysayers will come and go, but Bitcoin is here to stay.
