Low Time Preference works!! We chose to have bitcoinkampala.org set up around the biggest university in Uganda, why? 1. Students are teachable and not yet corrupted/held captive by the fiat system 2. Students don’t have money to invest(don’t have to worry about losing money)but they have time to put in more learning hours and gather experience. 3. In less than a month, #Bitcoin ers around the world have already helped us reach 24% of our goal to save Starlight Elementary School. As we kick off https://savestarlightschool.org, we prioritized desks because we had space but no desks. We've purchased 75 out of the planned 100 to maximize the use of available space. The children were thrilled and even helped with the heavy lifting! 😆 Spending the day with them opened my eyes to what Isma & the other care givers deal with daily. Here are some highlights: In addition to fulfilling basic needs, Isma and a few other adults at the school teach discipline, work ethic, cleanliness, and essential skills crucial for the children’s future success. My idea: What if we had volunteers? Bitcoiners, could you spend time with these kids and share your knowledge? Over the next few days, I will be taking time to have more conversations with them.
