I think I've finally ironed out the kinks in my shiny new ⚡️ #lightning server. I just can't get over how FAST payments are... the future is #bitcoin.

Nostr fixes arbitrary censorship but doesn’t fix the European trend towards authoritarianism. I can see this happening to relay runners in the future, and police will still come knocking on the doors of nostrlings who say things their government doesn’t like if they dox themselves. Which lightning node is best suited for deployment via @BTCPay Server in 2024? LND or CLN? 🫢 A lot of the online comparisons seem to be years out of date... for example, LND now supports pruned nodes since version 0.13, which was a big reason to choose CLN on a small server... I've spun up CLN so far, mostly because it's supposed to be kinder on resources than LND... but have found it almost impossible to run it with less than 4GB of ram, and there seems to be a bug that stops payments from server despite liquidity (Github: #6793). The essential plugins (like rebalancing) are also not integrated already, meaning some hacking about with docker fragments etc. So now wondering if I should have gone with LND... it seems to be better integrated with BTCPay, and is still (I believe) the more widely used node? So before I tear it down and start over... which are you using and why?

Been on a steep learning curve this week... But I now have a working Lightning⚡️node on my @BTCPay Server, my own #NIP05 domain and (hopefully) a working custom lightning address. 🤞
