IndieWeb What is the IndieWeb? The IndieWeb is a people-focused alternative to the “corporate web”. We are a community of independent and personal websites based on the principles of: owning your domain and using it as your primary online identity, publishing on your own site first (optionally elsewhere), and owning your content. Heart Icon Your content is yours When you post something on the web, it should belong to you, not a corporation. Too many companies have gone out of business and lost all of their users’ data. By joining the IndieWeb, your content stays yours and in your control. Connected network icon You are better connected Your articles and status messages can be distributed to any platform, not just one, allowing you to engage with everyone. Replies and likes on other services can come back to your site so they’re all in one place. Steering wheel icon You are in control You can post anything you want, in any format you want, with no one monitoring you. In addition, you share simple readable links such as example.com/ideas. These links are permanent and will always work. Beyond Blogging and Decentralization The IndieWeb effort is different from previous efforts/communities: Principles over project-centrism. Others assume a monoculture of one project for all. We are developing a plurality of approaches and projects. The IndieWeb community has a code-of-conduct. Publish on your site. Show before tell. Prioritize by making what you need, creating, iterating on your site. Design first, protocols and formats second. Focus on creating a good user experience and using your own prototype features to focus on minimum necessary formats and protocols. Simpler building blocks. When necessary, we adopt, improve, and create open standards for good design, user experience, and ease of implementation. Perhaps most importantly, we are people-focused instead of project-focused. We have regular meetups. All are welcome. You don't need to have a website to join, but you should be interested in personal websites!

Arch Linux pulls AUR packages that installed Chaos RAT malware If you installed certain packages from the AUR (Arch User Repository) in the past few days, you might have been infected with a RAT (Remote Access Trojan)—specifically, the Chaos RAT. The compromised packages are: -librewolf-fix-bin -firefox-patch-bin -zen-browser-patched-bin Three other suspicious packages were also removed: -minecraft-cracked (this one targets kids looking for free games) -ttf-ms-fonts-all (pretending the normal ttf-ms-fonts package is incomplete) -vesktop-bin-patched (Vesktop is a popular Discord client) All these packages installed the same malware: Chaos RAT, which gives attackers remote control over the infected system, potentially allowing them to steal data or perform other malicious actions. If you installed any of these packages, do the following immediately: -Remove the package with pacman -R package-name. -Check for a running process called systemd-initd (this is the RAT in disguise; it may hide in locations like /tmp). -If you find it, kill the process and seriously consider reinstalling your entire system, as RATs are difficult to completely remove and may have left backdoors or caused further damage. Note: The malware was downloaded and executed during the installation of these packages, so just uninstalling may not be enough—comprehensive checking and possibly a full system reinstall are recommended. For future safety, review AUR package PKGBUILDs before installing and be cautious with non-official packages, as AUR has no formal review process. Also :

Bitcoin Is Data - Comprehensive Bitcoin Metrics & Visualizations About Us We are passionate about all things Bitcoin, and after struggling to obtain some metrics in free services, we decided to generate them ourselves. With our statistical and data analysis background, we developed sophisticated techniques to extract, process, and analyze Bitcoin data directly from our full nodes. We make this data available freely to everyone with beautiful visualizations, plus the ability to download raw data in CSV or XLSX formats via a small subscription. Data is updated hourly and all references to dates and times are in the UTC time zone.
