Since I couldn't find my prescription from last year, I'd like to share another health challenge that has changed my life.
A few months ago, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). I had never imagined that I would hear those words from my doctor. It was one of the most heartbreaking moments of my life because, ever since I was young, I've dreamed of becoming a mother one day. Knowing that PCOS can make it more difficult to get pregnant filled me with fear, sadness, and so many unanswered questions.
When the doctor explained my condition, I tried to stay strong, but deep inside I was struggling. I couldn't stop thinking about my future and wondering if I would ever have the chance to hold my own child in my arms. It wasn't just the diagnosis that hurt—it was the uncertainty that came with it. I know that many women with PCOS are able to have healthy pregnancies with the right treatment and support, and that gives me hope. But at that moment, it still felt like my dream had suddenly become much harder to reach.
My doctor referred me to a private OB-GYN so I could begin the proper treatment and receive the care I need. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to continue because I simply don't have enough money to afford the consultation fees, laboratory tests, and medications. Every day that passes without treatment makes me feel worried, but it's a reality I have to face until I can save enough.
It's painful when your health depends on treatment that you know you need but cannot yet afford. Sometimes I feel frustrated, helpless, and overwhelmed, but I refuse to give up. I remind myself that this is only one chapter of my journey, not the end of my story.
Despite everything, I continue to hold on to hope. I believe that one day I'll receive the treatment I need, manage my condition, and continue fighting for my dream of becoming a mother. I know the road ahead won't be easy, but I also know that many women with PCOS have overcome similar challenges, and that gives me the strength to keep believing.
For now, all I can do is stay positive, work hard, save every peso I can, and pray that I'll soon have the opportunity to start my treatment. I may be facing one of the biggest challenges of my life, but I won't let it define me. My dream is still alive, and I will continue fighting for it with faith, patience, and hope.
I also want to explain why I don't have an official receipt to include with my entry. I purchased my prescribed medicine directly from the clinic after my consultation. The clinic did not issue an official receipt for the consultation or the medicine—only the prescription itself. Although I paid for both the doctor's consultation and the medication, I was only given the prescription as proof of my visit. I hope you understand why I cannot provide a receipt.
To anyone reading this who is also facing health struggles, know that you're not alone. Sometimes life gives us battles we never expected, but I believe that as long as we keep moving forward, there is always hope waiting for us. #MedicineForHope
