Despite my great experiences with Upper Peninsula Michigan Healthcare, I still can't get over how few Black faces I've seen here. And by few, I mean none. zip nada. Not in the airports, nor the supermarkets, or even Burger Kings where I didn't think the flame broilers could even operate without black black employees. It's easy to see why extremists can sucker these people so easily. They don't understand diversity because they've never experienced any.

Everything You Need To Know About The Ohio Ballot Measure That Could Block Abortion Rights

It’s time to change how we cover Elon Musk
After a weekend of whoppers about X and fighting Mark Zuckerberg, the press should take a more skeptical approach

Call me a wild-eyed dreamer, but I’d like the fediverse to become a global civic accountability, education and remedial action network that could, among many things, be a place to catalogue, propagate and annotate what rules, norms, and ethical standards are (or were) in hundreds of fields… while we still can. Before they are erased by neglect, disuse, and even further political abuse. (For me, this was always a major promise of the Internet.)

Good morning. So many messages to catch up on. I will get right on that after I catch my PCP up on all these medical dramas. I would like to take this moment to remind you youngsters that getting older has a few benefits, but living pain free is not likely to be one of them. Just so you know.

You used to have to go to places like Italy to find political parties with this many whackaloons. And we have no easy remedy for any of them except “voting,” which gives me no comfort at all.

Everyone talks about “both sidesism” now. Yet @npub1f7tg...0ml8 and his blog and podcast that spent over 13 years defining and promoting the term still struggles to find a major audience, while hundreds of unremarkable left-of-center podcasts and Substacks flood multiple zones, competing for our limited attention spans. I know it rankles him, but it personally skeeves me as well. A lot.

Bell Canada's finest modem was 1 year and done. Waiting for a new one. "1 to 2 days." Uh huh. Mobile hotspot to the rescue.
All those years interning for Rube Goldberg and he paid off for me.
Greetings from the North Channel of Lake Huron (N. Ontario) where the weather is picturesquely perfect and entirely smoke-free. For now. What have I missed?
(Please be as brief as possible, but skip nothing pertinent to any new indictments of Trump, or any co-conspirators named Rudy or Roger.)
I've always said that the counter offensive begins by denying benefits to students from states that want to live in the second century. It's too bad that some have to suffer, but it's that greater good for the greater number thing. Better the children of the zealots, than the children are everyone else.

YouTube is putting these context panels on @AriMelber's clips. I don't mind, but I'd sure like to see it on some less reliable sources too.

Rumors of a slam dunk have passed. I think it's safe to say that the game is now officially on.

I'm in an emergency room in Sault Saint Marie Michigan. They just drained my bladder shortly before it burst, after a rather panicky hour drive from the island. They suspect a blood clot from my bladder cancer surgery 3 weeks ago. Waiting for the ER doctor now. Every time Trump is in the news something bad happens.
I can’t speak for you, but I watch a LOT of the media’s political coverage from multiple venues. In over 3 years of their helping the GOP to fetishize the term, I have yet to see a reporter asking a Republican on National TV if they understand the history and meaning of the word “woke.” We’ve just accepted this media malpractice as the status quo. It’s pathetic. Especially since it’s now so obvious that these power-craving Republican scoundrels are destroying our planet along with democracy.

More journalistic malpractice. @CNN's fascist footstool Manu Raju gives Jim Jordan and 2 other Republicans an opportunity to say "evidence is piling up" for a Biden impeachment. But he never asks "what evidence?"
It just floors me that we sit passively for these daily assaults on democracy, decency, and decorum, by an entire political party/cult. And every day I look for single tweet toot, skeet, or stack about WTF we might do about it, besides shouting "just vote" into the void. #crickets
We’ll need super majorities to legally stop these monstrous Republicans from dismantling America even further.. But does legal even mean anything to these people anymore? It wouldn’t seem so.
