Back home on the Island. Looking forward to a the remainder of my vacation spent not lifting, running, coughing, sneezing, or laughing. Good times.
What a surprise. It's a hernia. A little bigger than it was. Still needs a surgeon to verify, but their money is on that as the culprit. As was mine. Just cost me another $250 ER deductible for that Comfort level of knowing that I can now sneeze and cough without dying. It will just hurt like hell. Until I get home when I can look forward to another surgery. How's your vacation going?
It's a little strange hoping that CT scan reveals a hernia. But I really would like to know what is causing this, and that would be the least ugly cause I've heard of thus far.
Because you didn't have enough to worry about. You're welcome.

Researchers had artificial intelligence listen to the sounds of typing through a phone and over Zoom, with eerie results.
That was the fastest CT scan on record. In and out of there in 5 minutes. I talked my CT nurse and phlebotomist into sharing a port in my arm. One less needle. I'm learning this game.
Back in the emergency room. Waiting for an eval. I miss the night time staff. At least the computer remembered me and all my metadata.
Good morning. I don't want to live in a world where Asa Hutchinson is the voice of reason. If I should suddenly expire, and you need to know why, @npub1f7tg...0ml8 can probably explain it to you.
I gave it one day off this suspicious drug to see if things improved, but nah. I gotta go to the ER tomorrow in the states and get a CT of my abdomen. An MD friend says some diverticulitis can go sideways in creative ways, and it’s not worth the risk, since it’s the prime suspect. He says I gotta go. But I’ll wait until afternoon when I know it will be hurting when I arrive so I can make a proper entrance.
I don’t mean to be that guy here, but we’re going to have to face the fact that America is almost ungovernable. When it actually gets there, then what?
She is so tiresome. Whatever moves her name from point A to point B. That’s all she’s ever been about. And the media is always thrilled to help her get it done.

I sure miss Tweetdeck's notification filters that let me tune-out things I've seen many times before. Mastodon users don't seem to care enough to notice or comment about it. I find it a productivity killer. Why should I have to see my own posts again just to learn of activity on them. Xitter and Bluesky handle this far better.
Good morning . If there's going to be a big commercial, mass-social media dog, I'd rather have a federated Bluesky take that lead, at least until activity Pub has a bump in Mastodon alternatives and better onboarding for them.

Dobbs is Just the Bludgeon We’ve Been Looking For
Life and Politics in the Age of Covid. An unapologetically partisan chronicle of the current state of the American Experiment.

I guess you know you're getting old when tits and ass spam really irritates you.
Despite my great experiences with Upper Peninsula Michigan Healthcare, I still can't get over how few Black faces I've seen here. And by few, I mean none. zip nada. Not in the airports, nor the supermarkets, or even Burger Kings where I didn't think the flame broilers could even operate without black black employees. It's easy to see why extremists can sucker these people so easily. They don't understand diversity because they've never experienced any.
