I’m old enough to remember when most of my social media posts were arguments with someone. Often someone’s that weren’t very good at arguing, but very good at being gratuitously nasty about it. If I’ve learned anything at all, it’s that quorums are much more informative than quarrels.

With the perilous threat of encroaching fascism that we face, anyone dumb enough to waste a crucial vote on Cornel West or RFK Jr needs to step off, step out, and get the fuck out of my social media feeds. Stat.

This Hulu show, “Accused” is really good. But it’s really weird seeing 10 “stories” about law and justice that were clearly written and produced with a progressive worldview, despite being produced by Fox. Not Fox News, but still… weird.

Episode 2 of “Accused” on Hulu is a must see, just for how it treats deafness, the hearing-privileged, and the cultural gulf between them. It’s under an hour, so of course it wraps up a bit too neatly, but still, quite effectively. More projects like this, please.

This incessant karenizing some do over one thing or another is exactly why so many people don’t like Mastodon or the fediverse. There is no need to preach to, heckle or admonish every one you meet just because they don’t see the world (or a passing issue) exactly as you do, or something rubbed you the wrong way. MAKE AN EFFORT TO BE CIVIL (until that gesture fails). Ask for clarification before thinking the worst and lashing out. We’ll all enjoy the experience a lot more when you do.

I’m late to some parties. I enabled the Window’s Link to my phone long ago, but didn’t use it much. But now I have, and it really transforms SMS messing into a decent chat. I’m running it in its own browser. Always in sync with my phone, with notifications from multiple Window’s sources. Useful.

All my life, while people were pretty shitty to me, mechanical devices, and my body, always functioned pretty well. I was lucky. Then, around 2013, everything went to shit and it’s been one fail after another. But my shine is back, baby! The new AC/split Is humming, my new PC is purring, Dell is relacing my laptop SSD drive under warranty, and now a cheap HDMI adapter replacement saved a very expensive 27” monitor. Life is good again. For now. Fuck Trump.
