🎻 After a couple days experimenting with the #ImprovGame, I’m coming back to the core of it all —sharing music directly. Here’s a sweet Cape Breton tune I love called “Chestnut Tree Jig” by D.A. Beaton. The tune itself is sandwiched between a couple fiddle-y improvisations. See if you can hear where the tune starts and ends! I recorded it on my back deck which is surrounded by trees 🌳🌳 🌳, felt appropriate! Always good to just pick up the instrument and play. 23rd note: I’m back home, which means I’m reunited with my piano 🎹✨ This is one of my favourite ways to improvise and practise: play some piano, then add violin or viola. When I do this, I get to explore HARMONY in a way that feels almost like playing music with another person. Tones against tones, colours against colours, the endless possibilities for expression.
