Man this was the most exciting part of growing up by far. You’re just a lantern in the dark, walking through the timber at midnight toward the sound of a hound baying xyz miles off. Shots ring out, they whistle as they fall, then the fight. Fair fight too, sometimes the coon would go up a hollow by the river, and drown the dogs in the night.
