OK, I want to fix my NWC with coinos. I see home, receive, history, send and the hamburger menu... none of which appear to have NWC. Am I missing something here? How can I connect this to Nostr again?

A buddy of mine found a compact disc of clipart from 1995. It had a lot of interesting and strange stuff on there. image And they were .eps files (vector graphics) so you could zoom in 32000% and not just be looking at a single pixel. In some ways it's better tech than people use today, and artists got paid for their work (at least, in theory). Fun dive 30 years into the past. ๐Ÿ˜„

Put up a #meshtastic node on a wooden lightpole today at a local brewery. 6 dbi gain antenna, RAK Wireless board, huge battery pack and a solar panel to keep it charged. The coverage in the area is *much* improved. Probably got up about 30 feet. Could have easily gone double that if we had a boom lift or bucket truck. But we did the best we could with the extension ladder for now. If we ever get access to better lifts, we can move it up.

I just made a second cutting board by hand. And when I say by hand, I mean using a standard a hand saw to cut the log. It takes literally hours of sawing, and I can't handle more than like 15 minutes at a time. Why am I doing this? My bandsaw only goes up 6" and I just really wanted to make some cutting boards from the tree that grew on our property. I did but a 3 tpi saw, but the blade twists and I don't get a straight cut. The normal 12 tpi saw is wide so it naturally goes straight. I could use the electric chainsaw, but I'd rather have the nice staight cut with a parallel plane to the face. If I was trying to make a living out of this, it'd make sense to hone that skill (or make a jig), but I'm taking the simple, old-fashion approach: hand saw.

Remember that time that American inteligence services were like "Saddam totally has nukes" and then after going to war we found out that he didn't? Remember that time the US was bogged down in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for 20 years, when the mastermind of 9/11 attacks wasn't even in either of those countries? Does any of this sound familiar? It wasn't even that long ago.

I spent like $2000 USD on ten #solar powered #meshtastic nodes, sold two (will be 3), donated one to charity, published the BOM, and I think I'm going to keep the rest of the nodes. Lost about $1500. Gained half a dozen VERY nice nodes. I'm good with this. I've taken decentralization to heart. Nodes should be built locally. It's not hard to do and any Makerspace will have a soldering iron and 3D printer. I'll build nodes for my local community. If other communities want them, they can build them.

I removed two wheelbarrow loads of thistles (a mixture of bull and Canada) from our yard today. You have to pull them up by the roots so they come back more slowly, or eventually not at all. They were irritating me as I was trying to do other yard work and then after I got started everywhere I looked I saw more and thought "well I better take that one too, before they get more energy down onto their roots and pop up in more places". Hopefully next time I go out there I can focus on the task I intended to do instead of the one that turned out to be higher priority.

Remember at the end of last year when some people were saying Trump was going to use the military against Americans on US soil and most people thought they were blowing things out of proportion? Pepperidge Farms remembers. What else were those people saying? Seems relevant now that the national guard, marines and a predator drone have all been deployed.

Ripping up grass is a lot harder than jist hoeing rows in a garden, that's for sure. Those roots just don't want to budge. Plus the sod is heavy to cart away too. image Slowly but surely, I'm removing our lawn and replacing it with mulch around fruit-bearing trees, and native blueberries, black raspberries, a squash hill, and as many other things as I can fit in there. I just gotta keep on top of it and not get side tracked before I finish ripping everything up and getting the mulch in there. Otherwise it'll all grow back, and lower.

What are the nostr accounts that are building something other than Nostr, Bitcoin, or AI slop? I'm already well aware of the honey, beef jerky, and leather wallets. They're good. I want more of that and also some cool tech account to follow. #AskNostr

I feel like the Fediverse is a lot of complaining, largely with good cause, and then no meaningful action. Nostr has been where I go to see people doing interesting stuff and they might mention the problem they are solving in passing. Buy lately, my #nostr feed has been pretty boring, and wuiet too. I guess everyone is distracted by the circus, and I have enough filters I am able to tune most of that out. Then again, maybe I'm part of the problem. I've been removing sod to release it with mulch. It's just chores, so I don't post about it. Perhaps others are in a similar situation, hence the quietness? I can post pictures of the little shed I'm going to build. That'll at least be entertaining.

SITREP: - Self-hosted LND/LNBits: failed (I'll check the logs when I get home) - Coinos in DDG browser: failed, crashed browser - Coinos in Vanadium: failed, unable to route (with a 66 sat fee) - Coinos in Vanadium with a 166 sat fee: success! image The register didn't lose my order, despite the extended amount of time it took me to pay (probably 4-5 minutes). So good job there, kiosk dev team. I'd still be hard pressed to recommend a non -custodial lightning wallet at this point. I hope to change that by continuing to post my experience and help test with real world transactions.

Future work: set up a lightnning address for my self-hosted node No point of putting it on Nostr until I get some inbound liquidity, but that will come in due time.

Today I opened 4 lightning channels, all .onion addresses. I then sent someone 1K using a lightning address, from my phone. Which means that it was able to lookup the address, get an invoice created, route properly, and actually transfer the loot. And I'm not directly connected to any large lightning nodes (AFAIK). This feels way cooler than I expected, and I'm probably enjoying it far more than is reasonable. ๐Ÿ˜† Thank you to the plebs who joined forces with me to grow the network! You are the real heros of this story. You have earned zero fees from me for life. Next up, we'll see if I can route to people I am not directly connected to. Should be fun. I'll have a good time or a food story.
