Bitcoin shouldn't be the selling point of nostr. It should be free speech. But to make people experience that they should be feeling the lack of it elsewhere. But the algorithms do a good job at making people live in their bubbles where they never feel they lack free speech. In their minds, they are happy with the social media experience. Nostr should give a dose of reality but it's filled with Bitcoin & protocol people who in their own way created an echo chamber similar to what the algos do on other social platforms. Result being people only have a theoretical understanding of true free speech. Only way to combat this would be to make the nostr experience as similar to other platforms as possible. Eventually the other platforms curb free speech and nostr might get more retention then. For a common enduser, the difference between nostr, threads,blue sky,mastodon, truth social is that there's so many options of similar kind. They usually flock to the most popular one, which is branded as left or right leaning depending on their ideology. #nostr #developers. Improve the enduser experience significantly.
