Ok I have an update on message privacy thanks @npub1m6az...h78d for the advice. I installed Ox Chat, signed with Amber, Now my messages are nip17(?) So they can't be seen with the npub That includes contents and when I send a new message (or receive I think)(still need to test that) the new message including person's name etc are no longer visable. What's more, I don't need to make the message in oxchat, Instead I can do it on primal or amethyst and it has the private nip17 option in purple next to the message box. Which is neat, cause I can message someone off their profile for example instead of opening oxchat and trying to route it that way. I think this has fixed the message privacy issue. Now to deal with the posts... I now understand that all posts are public facing for ever signed by me. In future ( looks at the tech nerds) It would be great if we have an option for only showing to followers. Or making it private. That will change the game for growing the user base.

Quick question Nostr fam. I logged in with my npub on another phone. No signer no authentication, While I can't post on the second phone, I can still see all my notifications, I can see who has messaged me and who I've messaged. I tried to post on that phone I can't do that (thankfully) And I can't send it see the message contents. But I can see how many messages etc. So literally anyone can log in to a client with someone else's npub and see all this info? #asknostr #primal

After spending about a week on Primal, a few things have stood out to me, enough that I felt it was worth sharing honestly. First, the people. I have felt welcomed, and that matters. That said, the platform itself has felt very Bitcoin-heavy. I want to be fair here, this could simply be my first-week experience. It may come down to who I’m following, or the default accounts suggested when you first sign up. I actually had to unfollow around 300 default accounts and am currently following only a handful of people. So this might not reflect Nostr as a whole, but first impressions matter. For someone coming from Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, that initial feed can feel overwhelming. This is especially true after already navigating the learning curve of protocols, relays, wallets, npubs, and nsecs. Another small but noticeable difference is posting style. Heavy text-and-link posts and hashtags mid-sentence. It’s not wrong, just unfamiliar, and it adds friction for new users. I don’t think the solution is asking people to change how they post. A simple improvement could be better onboarding. Clearer account recommendations at sign-up, or even a short interest-based survey to help new users find content that actually resonates with them. For my part, I want to be the change I want to see here. I’m going to post the way I did on TikTok and Facebook. Real, creative, human content. Not following an existing Nostr trend, but bringing genuine social energy into the space. My hope is that by doing that, I can help build, at least around me, the kind of decentralized social experience I’d actually want to use. This is just one creator’s first-week perspective.
