Two years on nostr! Here’s my first note. Maybe sent from @Damus? It’s been awesome seeing this place grow. 🍻

It feels like Bitcoin is winning. But if it fails over the next 1 to 10 years, why do you think it did? What are the most likely causes?

Contracts are insidious. Bitcoin makes prepaid great again. I’m visiting Costa Rica and using a data esim from @https://silent.link. I add as many sats as I want and just go. No need to guess how many GB and how many days I need.
As a fellow Canadian with ties to Kenya and Uganda, thanks for this call to action. I wasn’t aware of these bitcoin charities in east Africa.
“It lends credence to the notion that quantum computation occurs in many parallel universes, in line with the idea that we live in a multiverse, a prediction first made by David Deutsch.”
This will stick in my brain for a while. Wow.

Pura vida 🇨🇷

I’m visiting Costa Rica with my family. A beautiful country with beautiful people. Pura vida! 🇨🇷
After being off Twitter since May 2023, I created a burner account to follow news leading up to the US election that wasn’t covered elsewhere. In the few weeks that I’ve had it, I’ve received a few new followers each day, all clearly bots/catfishers. It’s so refreshing coming back to nostr. Twitter is a dump.

I’m loving running my own nostr relay on @Umbrel ☂️. I don’t write a lot of notes, but I like knowing that they’re always there on my personal server.
I’m strongly considering a guided multisig like Nunchuk or Casa. My main rationale is that I want my family to have a better chance of success at using our bitcoin if I’m not around. Does this make sense? I know multisig can increase risk without much security benefit unless you want more than one person to hold keys. I don’t want to overthink things here.
Thanks @Mags. As a fellow Canadian, I agree. I also feel strongly that Canada should make better use of its excellent nuclear industry and become a leader in clean power generation. This lends itself to bitcoin mining and AI data centres. Ontario is doing well embracing nuclear. The Darlington plan is undergoing refurbishment. I think they’re doing more in Pickering and Bruce. The uranium mines near Lake Athabasca in SK are some of the best in the world. I hope the rest of Canada can get on board too.
A letter to the editor by RFK Jr was published in The Economist this week. The topic: bitcoin’s positive impact on energy supply and renewable production. @Daniel Batten

I’ve purchased two paintings from @🟠 isolabellart. Amazing art and he’s a pleasure to work with.

I love seeing this stuff on nostr. I hope we can bring @Massimo / @Rainmaker1973 (RSS Feed) over here someday.
