🇯🇵 When the Japanese borrows an English word, they use a specific alphabet dedicated to foreign words and keep the pronunciation as English as possible. 🇫🇷 When the French borrows a word from English, they keep the spelling unchanged but alter the pronunciation so that it sounds as French as possible.
This is French television and you would not have someone who says “we should separate money and state” speak for 30 minutes unless their daughter was almost kidnapped. You can tell the journalists/commentators are in a state of panic, just like in ‘Atlas Shrugged’ whenever one of the Washington policy makers talk to industrialist Hank Rearden.

[audio 20] Money printing during the civil war following the transition to the Meiji period, leading to inflation. [audio 44] Introduction of the yen in gold coins (the 20-yen gold coin looked awesome, straight out of John Wick). Introduction of a gold standard in 1897, abandoned in 1931. [audio 52] Examples of hyperinflations [audio 55]: “Historically, hyperinflations emerged when a central bank lent too much money to the government or governmental institutions”
Dubai travel tip: If stuck in the airport between 2 planes, get out, order an uber and go chill in Creek Harbour (20min from the airport). Then have dinner/coffee/breakfast in front of a marina with the Burj Khalifa in the distance. image
