I've been testing this with my Colleague who is working on it and it's really Excellent,, feels like the ICQ Days again. Nostr DMs in Desktop client out of the box in Tails is Magical. View quoted note →
@fiatjaf , @Dawn , @unprovocative-christiane , @vinney...axkl - You are the npubs that I have so far found who post web archives. Accordingly, you've been invited to http://relay.wayback.st - a pyramid instance intended to be a home for nostr web archives. relay and blossom server so far. We're also running a websitestr fork at , slightly modified for now but lots of features planned. - Near term: WARC files posted to the wayback.st blossom server, web archive events posted to the wayback.st relay; add negentropy and blossom mirrors for archive resiliency. - Mid-longer term: fork nostr web archiver extension to add some convenience features given wayback.st; extend the replay UI to make finding archives from your friends and extended network easier; make archives easier to navigate for non-nostriches; integrate with lantern and highlightning in general - Ultimately: purpose-built clients for archives and paywall-hopping; possibly a Firefox/Chrome fork for the same; integrate payments and bounties for paywalled articles; integration with existing scholarly journal archives and other internet archives.
This is how they bleed us: Going Pure Pseudonym With Strong Privacy Is Slow and Hard. Amnesiac Tails OS. Encrypted volumes. Tor everywhere. Memorized passwords. Managing GPG keys and KeePass databases. Only recording enough information to re-find your own breadcrumb trail but not tip off a Snooper. Cashu wallets, Email aliases, Anonymous payments for VPS and domains, Self-hosting services for the things where Third Parties would require KYC. That's all just to get a Nym Booted up and baseline operational; none of it can be shared with other nyms. If this identity is going to be Long-running or acquiring any Credibility or Business connections this is just the beginning of the picture. Writing and deploying code, Providing customer service, Delivering timely responses to business contacts without the use of mobile devices or realtime notifications. Physically doing all this in your home or out of the house without tipping off those around you that something is odd about your computer use... You have any idea how hard that shit is while maintaining untraceably pseudonymity on ONE nym? It compounds enormously with each additional one. This is how the Enemies of #privacy win the long war of attrition. This process is slow, error-prone, full of friction, not for the faint of heart, requires focus and dedication and some degree of disposable funds. All the Enemies have to do is insure the "Easy Way" gains area under the curve, while the Hard Way gets a little harder every day. Even just the loss of productivity and patience due to Tor speed vs clearnet speed is enough to move the needle on the overall struggle. For us to lose, the Businesses and Services nyms provide for each other and for the namedoxxed public only have to be slightly less successful and slightly lower velocity than the offerings of the Enemy. Combine that with the broad "Don't worry about Privacy" spell cast over the majority of the population, and the Picture is bleak. Yet - here We are. We find new patches of digital land to plant our #secondRealm flags on. We persist DESPITE the friction, we sound the alarm DESPITE the unhearing ears of most NPCs. If we didn't think we had a chance we'd already be hollowing out our skulls staring at Instragram and neatly stacking our monopoly monies. But no - we're here, building and learning and teaching. Insist that the software you use is no-kyc. Pay for your services and tips with private money. Follow nyms. Support your local pseudonymous developer. Carve out a space. That's all for now. #agora #anarchy #cypherpunk #cryptoanarchy
