Been thinking a lot about this quote👇 “We cannot have a society in which, if two people wish to communicate, the only way that can happen, is if it’s financed by a third party Who wishes to manipulate you” - Jaron Lanier I can’t stop thinking of this lately. It’s absurd what the internet and social media has become.. I don’t think it’s out of pure evil, I think it’s because there’s just bad incentives.. Nostr (and apps built on it like @primal.app ) fixes this because the data goes to relays instead of the “third parties who wish to manipulate you”. Instead of apps competing for your time so that they can sell your attention to advertisers, these apps built on nostr will compete for your time based on the quality of your experience. And frankly, the apps built on nostr aren’t as great as IG, tikTok, twitter, etc yet… But you heard it here and you’ll hear it here again.
