PearTune v1.0.7 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: New Features - Owners can now choose which folders each person is allowed to hear. Tick the folders on the People page and the rest of the library disappears for them - not listed, not searchable, not playable. It takes effect straight away, even mid-song. (Folder libraries only for now.) - If your access to a library is taken away, your phone now says so plainly instead of looking like the library is offline. - The library dashboard has a button to sign out every other browser, so a laptop you handed back stops being signed in. Improvements - Skipping or scrubbing a track no longer keeps the library sending music you already skipped past. Less work for the server and less mobile data for you. - If you asked several libraries for the same song, answering it in one now clears it from the others instead of leaving it looking pending forever. - Renaming someone in the dashboard no longer overwrites the name their own device chose. - Moving a device to a different person now reaches that device immediately, without waiting for it to reconnect. Security - A website open in your browser can no longer send commands to a library dashboard running on the same computer. - The app now only opens ordinary web, email and payment links, and asks for the camera and nothing else. - The library's private key and dashboard password files are re-locked every time they are read, so a copy restored from a backup cannot arrive readable Bug Fixes - When restoring your last listening session fails, the app now tells you instead of silently doing nothing. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS
PearCinema v1.1.3 is out! Your film and television collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. New Features • Choose what each person can see. On the People page, every person now has a "Can see" line: tick the drives or folders they may watch, to any depth, and everything else disappears for them. Tick nothing and they see everything, as before. Films they have already downloaded stay on their phone. • Decide it when you invite them, not after. Pairing a new device now asks what it will be able to see before it shows you a code, so a device can be limited from the moment it joins. Handing over the whole library asks you to confirm. • The phone app works sideways, and on tablets. Turn it and the page fills the screen instead of staying a narrow column. Improvements • Films and TV shows with unusual filenames now get proper episode numbers. Anime numbered 01, 02, 03, files named only "E01", and several other naming styles were being filed with no episode number at all, so they could not be sorted or resumed. • Specials, OVAs and bonus episodes are now filed under "Specials" instead of sitting numberless, and creditless openings and disc menus no longer show up as episodes. • Films that cannot be read are now named on the dashboard. Previously a damaged or half-copied file simply never appeared in the library, with nothing said anywhere. • Converting on an NVIDIA graphics card now works with the drivers Linux Mint and Ubuntu ship. The bundled converter needed a newer driver than those systems offer. • When the video engine test fails, the page now shows what each graphics option said, in plain words, instead of one unexplained error. • A television waiting on its Media Assistant channel is now named in the phone's TV picker, with the one step needed to fix it. • Changes to what somebody can see reach their phone in about a second, without needing to refresh. Security • The file holding this machine's private key for reaching other libraries is no longer readable by other users on the same computer. Reported by a user; it is tightened automatically the next time PearCinema starts. @Zapstore #PearCinema #P2P #selfhosted #video #movies #privacy #jellyfin #Android #iOS

PearTune v1.0.6 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: New Features - Like the song you're listening to straight from the player. The heart is on the player itself now, in both looks. Improvements - The albums grid keeps loading as you scroll. No more "Load more" button. - Uses less memory while playing. The app now fetches music a little at a time instead of pulling a whole song ahead. Bug Fixes - Music now pauses when your Bluetooth car or headset disconnects, or when you unplug wired headphones, instead of sometimes carrying on through the phone's speaker. - Your queue no longer disappears after a pause. If the connection to your library drops while the phone is locked, the queue is kept and comes back as soon as the library is reachable again. - Tapping Shuffle on an artist now really shuffles from the first song, so the list no longer runs out after a few tracks. - WMA files from a Jellyfin library now play, the same as from a folder library. (Needs the updated library host.) - Music folders that use shortcuts or symbolic links are now included in your library. (Needs the updated library host.) - On a Mac, "Update now" works again. Note for Mac users already on 1.0.2 or 1.0.3: install this version by hand once, and updates will apply themselves from then on. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS

PearCinema v1.1.1 is out! Your film and television collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: ### Bug Fixes - Fixed a crash that closed the app after a few minutes of watching. While a film played, the app kept hold of far more of it than it needed, until the phone ran out of memory and shut the app down. It now keeps only the part it is about to play, so a film runs as long as you want to watch it. @Zapstore #PearCinema #P2P #selfhosted #video #movies #privacy #jellyfin #Android #iOS

PearTune v1.0.3 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. What's new: Improvements - The on/off controls in Settings are now proper switches. You can see what is on at a glance from the position, instead of reading a word. - Those switches now tell screen readers which setting they control, rather than just saying "on" or "off". - On iPhone and iPad, the request to use your local network now explains why PearTune is asking. It connects straight to your library across your wifi instead of taking the long way round. Fixes - Songs in .ogg format now play on iPhone and iPad. Before, they appeared in your library and tapping one left the player sitting there in silence, with nothing to explain why. - A library served from a Mac, Windows or Linux computer can now play formats your phone does not understand, such as .wma and .ogg. Those tracks used to be silent. There is nothing extra to install - it is built in now. - On a Mac, choosing "Update now" takes effect straight away. The update used to install correctly while your library quietly kept running the old version until you restarted the computer. - The "Recently added row" switch in Settings now gives the same small buzz as the other switches when you tap it. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS

PearTune v1.0.1 is out! Your music collection, playable anywhere, without exposing your server to the internet. New - Play your music on the Google and Home Assistant speakers around your home. - Voice control through Home Assistant: say "Okay Nabu, play Led Zeppelin", or name a room, like "put on Metallica in the kitchen". - Songs in .wma and .aiff formats now play, streamed or downloaded for offline. Improvements - Song lengths show right away when listening away from home. - Jumping around inside a song now works when listening away from home. - Download is easier to reach: long-press any album or track, anywhere in the app. - Clearer messages when a library cannot be reached or read, instead of it just looking empty. Fixes - Playback that hits a bad patch of network picks itself back up instead of stopping. - Music no longer goes silent when the next song starts while the app is in the background. - The lock screen play button no longer ends a speaker cast by accident. - Leaving speaker casting hands playback back to the phone properly, and speakers that cannot be reached stay out of the list. @Zapstore #PearTune #P2P #selfhosted #music #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore #Android #iOS

PearCal v1.0.45 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar What's new: 🐛 Bug Fixes - Opening the app after a while away is fast again. If you'd left PearCal closed for more than a few minutes, it could sit for two to four minutes before showing events other people had added. It now catches up within seconds. This was most noticeable on iPhone. - The desktop app updates itself when your computer wakes up. Previously it could stay out of date after your machine had been asleep, until you quit and reopened it. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearList v1.0.8 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: Improvements - Setting a reminder time is quicker. The time now moves in quarter hours instead of five-minute steps, so getting to 6:45 takes three taps rather than nine. A reminder already set to something like 6:05 moves to the nearest quarter hour the first time you nudge it. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCal v1.0.44 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar What's new: New - Desktop now warns you when a shared calendar is in trouble: when it can't sync on this device, when nothing has arrived from the others for a while, or when you're waiting to be approved. Calendars needing attention are marked in the sidebar. Previously the desktop said nothing. Fixed - Desktop: you could change other people's events even when only their creator was allowed to. Your change was saved and sent out, leaving a version only your computer believed in. Now it opens read-only. - Invite links could be created without everything needed to join an encrypted calendar, so whoever accepted one could never sync. Links are now built correctly, and a device that can't make a working one says so instead. - Removed a "Rekey Group" button from group settings that could never finish. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearCircle v1.1.1 is out! A peer-to-peer location-sharing app ### New Features - Low battery alerts. Get a heads-up when someone in your circles is running low, while there is still time to reach them. A phone that dies stops sharing its location, so this is usually the last warning before their dot goes stale. Turn it on in Settings under "Low battery alerts" and slide to pick how low they have to get, anywhere from 5% to 50%. It tells you about your circle members' phones, not your own, and you get one alert per person each time their battery runs down, which resets once they charge back up. ### Improvements - Start9 owners can add the PearCircle seeder from the built-in store. Newer Start9 systems can now find and install the seeder the normal way, instead of needing a file downloaded and dragged in by hand. @Zapstore #pearcircle #p2p #family #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearList v1.0.7 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: - Tick it off and it's gone. A new setting makes items leave the list the moment you check them, instead of sitting there with a line through them. A list you shop every week stays as short as what is still to get, however many times you have used it. - It's off unless you turn it on, in Settings under "Lists & aisles". Nothing about your lists changes until you ask for it. - Ticked the wrong thing? You get a few seconds to undo, and the item comes back unticked, ready to buy again. - Chore lists are left alone, so you can still tick the chores off and reset them for next week. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCal v1.0.42 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar New - Your calendar now tells you when it has stopped syncing with the other members, instead of just going quiet. It waits a couple of days before saying anything, so it will not nag you when someone is simply away for the weekend. Fixed - Fixed the app failing to open, sometimes showing "Failed to start PearCal" and sometimes just a blank screen. This could happen after closing and reopening quickly. - Fixed a device getting stuck when it had fallen behind, where it would sit on the loading screen, never catch up, and drain the battery. It now fetches what it is missing and stays usable while it does. - Warnings about a calendar having a problem could disappear moments after showing, so you would never see them. They now stay put. - Linux: the app would install but never open on Ubuntu 24.04 and similar. Fixed. Improved - Catching up after being away is much faster and uses far less battery. - Fewer pointless background writes when nothing has actually changed. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearCal v1.0.38 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar What's new: Bug Fixes - Canadian and UK holidays landed on the wrong dates. When a holiday fell on a weekend, it was being moved to the Friday before instead of forward to the next free weekday. The most visible symptom: Boxing Day showing on Christmas Day. Canadian and UK holidays now follow their own rules rather than the US one, so each weekend holiday moves forward to the next weekday nobody else has taken. - Two related date problems came out of the same fix. New Year's Day could render as an invalid date in some years, and two holidays could occasionally claim the same day. Both are fixed, and the dates were checked against the official published lists across 2021 to 2032. - Calendars that already had the wrong dates now fix themselves. Previously you had to switch a holiday calendar off and back on to pick up the corrections. PearCal now tidies these up on its own when you open the app. Reminders you set on a holiday move with it, and any holiday you deleted on purpose stays deleted. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearList v1.0.5 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: • Reminders: set a time on any item and your phone nudges you, even if PearList is closed. • Repeating chores: daily, weekly or monthly. Tick one off and it comes back. • An optional daily nudge about lists with things left on. • Picking a time is a tap now, not a spin: "In an hour", "Tomorrow morning", or exact. • PearList could open to a black screen on some Android 12+ • Reminders could arrive silently, or ring on the wrong phone. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearCal v1.0.37 is out! A peer-to-peer group calendar ## New Features -Reset app data. You can now clear PearCal from inside the app, under Profile then Settings. There are two options: clear your calendar and groups but stay signed in as yourself, or start over completely as a brand new user. Previously the only way to do this was to delete the app and reinstall it, which on iPhone meant losing everything with no way back. -Turn the relay off on desktop. Mac, Windows and Linux now have the same privacy switch the phone app already had, so you can stop PearCal routing through the shared relay if you would rather it did not. -See more in the widget. The home screen widget now shows more of your upcoming events instead of stopping at five, and fits as many as the widget size allows. -Know why a join failed. If joining a group does not work, the app now tells you what went wrong instead of quietly doing nothing. ## Privacy -Your recovery phrase is no longer stored in iCloud or Google. Older versions quietly saved it to Apple's or Google's cloud, with no way to see or switch that off. It now stays on your device only, and this update automatically deletes any copy that was already uploaded. ## Improvements -Clearer blind peer pairing. Pairing now shows progress on both the app and the seeder dashboard, with a countdown, and gets out of your way once it succeeds. -Accurate blind peer details. The blind peer list showed how many groups it was seeding at the moment you paired it, which could be badly out of date. It now shows the real number. ## Bug Fixes -Moving an event to another date made it disappear. The event vanished from your calendar until you restarted the app, and on a paired second device it could be lost for good. Fixed on phone and desktop. -Multi-day events dropped out of the widget. An event spanning several days showed on its first day and then disappeared, even while it was still running. -Groups could lose the key that keeps them private, which left you stuck behind a "can't sync" message. Existing affected groups repair themselves, and the desktop app can now repair them too. -Re-sharing an event did not bring it back for anyone else in the group. -Invite links were unreliable. Sometimes tapping one did not open the join screen at all, and older links could leave the app stuck on a blank screen until you force-closed it. ## PearCal Seeder -Visible on StartOS 0.4. Adding peerloomllc.com as a custom marketplace on a StartOS 0.4 server showed only PearCircle Seeder. PearCal Seeder now appears there and installs correctly. Servers on 0.3.5 were never affected. @Zapstore #pearcal #nostr #p2p #calendar #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearCircle v1.1.0 is out! A peer-to-peer location-sharing app ## What's New in 1.1.0 ### Improvements - You can now see which computers are really protecting your circle. The Seeders screen used to list every computer you had ever approved, whether or not it was actually doing anything. It now separates the ones genuinely holding your circle from the ones that have never checked in, and shows when each was last heard from. A switched-off computer no longer looks like a working one. - Linking a computer to your circles shows its progress. Pairing used to sit silently and look like it had frozen. Now each step is reported as it happens, so you can tell it is working. - Start9 owners can install the seeder from the browser again. Newer Start9 systems refused the older package format. The seeder now ships in a format they accept, so you can add it by drag and drop instead of using the command line. ### Bug Fixes - The seeder's details page on Start9 was blank. It now shows the information it was meant to. - App store listings showed the wrong "what's new" text. Every update was described as a first release. Each version's real notes now appear. ### Security - Your location is always encrypted before it leaves your phone. A timing problem when you first joined a circle could leave one early position unprotected. That was fixed in 1.0.25, so if you are updating from an older version you are getting that fix here too. @Zapstore #pearcircle #p2p #family #privacy #bitcoin #zapstore

PearList v1.0.4 is out! Shared household lists over peer-to-peer. No account, no server. What's new: New • Tidy finished aisles: tick off an aisle's last item and it folds away. Off by default, in Settings. Improvements • Better aisle sorting: 346 more brand names, plus fixes for items landing in the wrong aisle. • A lighter app: less to download and less space used on your phone. Removed • Local AI. It found the right aisle under half the time and cost a 0.8 GB download. Sorting is faster and more accurate… Bug Fixes • Settings now shows the version of PearList you are actually running. It had said 0.0.1 since the very first release. @Zapstore #PearList #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #lists #groceries #chores #Android #iOS #Zapstore

PearPetal v1.0.3 is out! A private, peer-to-peer menstrual & fertility cycle tracker. No account, no server, no cloud. What's new: This release is about staying connected. PearPetal can now reach your other devices, and your partner's, even on mobile networks that block two phones from talking to each other directly. ##New - Connect anywhere. Some mobile networks will not let two phones connect straight to each other, which could leave pairing or syncing hanging forever with no explanation. PearPetal can now pass the connection through a PeerLoom helper server, but only after a direct connection has already failed. Your cycle data stays scrambled the whole way and the helper cannot read any of it. It can only see that two devices are talking and how much data passes between them. This is on by default, and you can switch it off under Settings, Connect anywhere, which keeps you strictly device to device. - Connection details. Under Connect anywhere you can now see how your phone is really connecting: how many connections it made directly and whether the helper was ever needed. ##Improved - A tidier Settings screen. Settings used to be several screens of scrolling with no clear order, and some things sat permanently open while more important ones were hidden. Everything is now grouped under Your cycle, How it looks, Alerts and connection, then Your data, and each group opens when you tap it. Your name and photo stay at the top. ##Fixed - On smaller phones, the Dial and Month switcher no longer covers the flower button and the information button at the top of the cycle card. @Zapstore #PearPetal #Nostr #Bitcoin #P2P #cycletracking #fertility #privacy #Android #iOS #Zapstore
