I recommend these books by Rune Østgård. I was lucky to meet him at Bitcoin Atlantis and talk about inflationary policy back in the viking age, it seems all cultures throughout history will have been tempted to "print" more monetary units.
Harald Hardrada (Haraldr Harðráði) or Harold Hard-ruler, a viking king who attempted to finance conquest by the way of inflation, as you will read in these books, that didn't end well.
I was asked by a friend to paint a painting for a 14 year old boy who has his confirmation today. His name is Flóki. Over a thousand years ago Raven-Flóki sought an island to the north-west, his three ravens helped him find it.
