A really cool nostr filter would be based on depth of thought in a note. If I'm feeling philosophical, maybe I can only see notes that contain some deep thinking as evaluated by an #AI. Maybe sometimes I just want to read a ton of shitposts, and I slide the scale to the opposite end.
"It works for now, but will eventually fail." is the law of our universe. The choice we have to make is whether it's worth it to use something temporarily or shift to something that is more permanent. We should respect the choices people make regardless of where we ourselves fall on that spectrum.
Just had the thought that "The economic system is heading to disaster because of the common denominator of monetary inflation via the Cantillon Effect." and "The Earth's climate is heading to disaster because of the common denominator of rising CO2 levels via the burning of fossil fuels." appear as the same argument. One factor is argued to have an outsized impact on a much larger, complex system because it is has a connection with every other factor in the system.
I came across a copy of Jason Lowery's thesis and made a mirror to download the PDF. I have no idea if it's still available online or if the book will go back to print.
I'm in a programming slump, finding it hard to enjoy it like I used to. What is it about developing software brings y'all joy? #dev #programming #asknostr #software
I hate cancel culture and I love Bitcoin. So I'm glad that you can't cancel Bitcoin. You can only cancel yourself from it.
The Barbie movie was an absolute trip. It had very strong Lego Movie vibes, which was really great. There were a ton of social quiet parts said out loud. 8/10 would recommend.
RIP Kevin Mitnick. You were an extremely influential person and writer to me when I was growing up. Your books really made me think computers were cool as a kid and helped me out tremendously in taking my privacy and security seriously as an adult and professional developer. You were always a free spirit and always pushing the boundaries of computer security. Your legacy will live on.
Lots of emphasis on people eventually getting rugged by Bitcoin custodians to shock them into self-custody. But I'm plenty of people have and will get burned by self-custody and switch to third party custody, get rugged there, and condemn Bitcoin forever.
Tried listening to an interview with Vivek Ramaswamy and realized that hearing politicians speak makes my ears bleed.
