After seven days at sea and 1300nm of sailing we’re 60nm ENE of Vava’u Tonga. Got 20-25’s off the stern and this old girl is surfing waves like a pro at pipeline! There’s nothing like crossing oceans on a performance sailing ⛵️ boat. It’s incredibly rewarding, it’s proof of work with salt added. This is the view off the back porch!

1700 local time, start of day 3 and we’ve done 380nm since departing Maupiti. Had a spectacular day with smooth seas a gentle 2m ground swell rolling through from the SW but light 8-12kts of wind just after of the beam. Boats going great and we expect this weather to continue for the next two days. Made some water this morning topping up the tanks and drinking water. Come Wednesday we’ll start to get some more harsh conditions with expected 25-35kts of breeze for the last two days run into Tonga. Proof of Sail ⛵️ #sailstr #sailing #travelstr #nostr

You can see cloud top temps to getting weather data on passage! Blows my mind how much sailing and weather forecasting has changed since I started living on boats as a kid in the 1980’s.
