Mostly Bitcoin Only. My stuff is TLDR on purpose so you can pick/choose what you want. Bitcoin Store of Value first but then MoE, least friction. Open Source is King. Filters are not Censorship. Bitcoin is Time (Gigi). Timechain. Ocean. Bitcoin Knots. I am a 35 year BI Developer using a competing product of Microstrategy but now am a MSTR /Saylor supporter. Non-Partisan. npub1mp77smkmq77zwp3d8ke2let567cype0m3lhwx7v97gu2fans40qsn7vzdd
"Two Jacks and a Saylor: Are they on the same page?" Big fan of Jack Dorsey, he's following Saylor's lead with Block. I always thought Jack Dorsey (JD), Jack Mallers, and Michael Saylor were all on the same page. That's naive. I am still a superfan of all three men but Dorsey to me has the most pure intent when it comes to Satoshi's vision. I followed the public blow up with JD and a16z. I also listened intently to JD in Portugal. He was crystal clear on why he was there, for Open Source which completely houses Bitcoin/NOSTR thus he was wearing his infamous SATOSHI shirt and NOSTR hat. He explained how much Big Tech has TAKEN from Open Source and has never GIVEN back to Open Source efforts. Read, no one is giving big money, other than JD, back into Open Source: Dorsey: Bitcoin/NOSTR: - OpenSats $21 Million Donation May 4, 2024 (Essentially $15 Million for Bitcoin and $5 Million for NOSTR) - His company Block just announced the creation of a 3nm ASIC - Getting into Bitcoin Home Mining kits - He supports Ocean and supports the people rightly concerned with SPAM and keeping mining/pools/nodes truly decentralized - Hasn't publicly supported SPAM/Ordinals/Inscriptions/Runes/Stamps - NOSTR champion - Buying BTC for Block's Books - Understands the Africa/unbanked/underbanked - BTC SOV and MoE Mallers: Bitcoin/NOSTR: - Massive Supporter of Bitcoin - LN guru and visionary - Is indifferent on SPAM/Ordinals/Inscriptions/Runes/Stamps by his comments here, basically thanking them for financially supporting the Bitcoin Network's Health (Never mind most of the panel underwhelmed by simply thinking the attack is a 'nothing burger.) - NOSTR basic user - I thought he understood Africa/unbanked/underbanked, but not if SPAM isn't a threat? -BTC is SOV and MoE Saylor: Bitcoin/NOSTR: - Bitcoin Chad - Pro LN - Supportive of SPAM/Ordinals/Inscriptions/Runes/Stamps with his Orange Checkmark work - NOSTR, no public support, a few posts - Bitcoin Development, rumors are he tried to shut down ARK from donating - I heard one comment in a Lightning Round with Natalie about Saylor talking Africa - Has Saylor ever publicly supported Ocean or given money to Open Source projects? - BTC a SOV (I align with this: ) I agree with 99% of what Dorsey is doing, 98% of Saylor, and about 90% of Mallers (he's still a green horn with massive mentors.) My favorite, albeit crappy, title I achieved in my BI Corporate America career was 'Principal Solutions Engineer' (even though they never listened to me when I said it should be Principle not Principal. Coders are all about precision.) But I do like Solutions, so what will it take? Open Source is way harder than Closed/Corporate/Legacy/FIAT. So much of it was 'organic' with TCP/IP, SMTP, VOIP, Linux, and now Bitcoin and NOSTR. There are so many ways to 'armchair quarterback' why something will fail, no different than NOSTR or Bitcoin, but you also have to plan for your success. We have to plan for Bitcoin/NOSTRs success. What does that look like? How can we help in a positive way, I can't give millions but I can donate a ton of my precious time. (Only my cancer advocacy is more important.) Projects I would love to help: - Decentralization of Nodes - "...so yah 77% of the UTXOs are useless and are a waste of resources." - Decentralization of the miners/Pools I am pro JD's Ocean, but how do we overcome the $$$$$ incentive when people go with the disingenuous because greed overrides what is right? How do we take Ocean from Minority to Majority? - Developers: How do we make sure we are funding the 'right' projects and are not just turning into shills or supporting those developers who losers like a16z/Bitcoin Magazine support? Once again, most pressing, elevating Ocean. If you look at our past, some of the best projects and things never made it to mass adoption. Mainly because people with the FIAT money had the best marketing and advertising. Satoshi had a little budget, how can we get back on the right path and incentivize people to go with Ocean and Bitcoin Knots? I can't help but think of the story of the guy who developed the Weber Grill. How many demos he had to do in order to get mass adoption. Fueled simply by passion, for his product. How can we recapture Bitcoin and make it boring again, and move all the SPAM and other non-monetary projects like the Orange Check off the Bitcoin Base Layer onto L2+? We capture stranded energy for Bitcoin Mining, how do we capture stranded passion for Bitcoin advocacy? We can't simply let 2 Jacks and a Saylor do everything. There is power in numbers, not images.
I have been getting a pop-up box every time I try to follow someone new (Primal) and it warns me I will lose all those I follow. Well, I finally clicked it and it was true, I am down from 1000 to 0.
Censorship isn't cool but sometimes the effort people take to post on any platform, including NOSTR is lame. Take your time. Post something deep, aside from "GM" and "NGU" or a stolen Meme.***** ***** - Yes, I stole this image but tried (my effort) to cater it image
Fountain is my favorite podcast app, it just works great, remembers where I left off etc. Great app and earning Sats listening.
"Bitcoin: Yet Another SPAM attack" Subhead 1: "Why I will never, ever be on board for Inscriptions and Ordinals" Subhead 2: "Pro Filter" Protect the Bitcoin Timechain from GIGO/SPAM Outside of Bitcoin, it is all about the data for Technical Analysis, Data Scientists, Mathematicians but what is happening behind the scenes to get you the result sets? The data is so massive on the queries where you only see the output/result sets. SPAM/JUNK/Garbage inside companies databases is a huge issue. Sometimes, because there was no foresight, the databases are crammed with Garbage. The industry knows it as GIGO - "Garbage In, Garbage Out", it was one of the worst parts of my job. Why? The Business (aka The Freds) demand Perfection and GIPO (Garbage In, Perfection Out) is impossible. I tried and tried to tell the higher ups to add in 'edits' or 'filters' or anything to help. No one listened and we had to code around it, millions of lines of codes so the result sets were as good as we could get. Of course The Freds would say we are idiots as they spun up some stupid Pivot Table showing us what we already knew. Never helping us stop the three-headed fish at Lake Itasca and complaining where the Mississippi emptied into the Gulf of Mexico. CEOs/CIOs never listened no ROI, just live with with the noise. With Bitcoin, we do not need to follow what FIAT has allowed in every aspect of our lives...we just need consensus. SPAM EMAIL Some of you don't remember the early days of email, it was awful, how much of your email was SPAM. But guess what, it still is a terrible amount but there are thankfully filters/edits in place. "The percentage of total email traffic that is identified as spam, has consistently decreased (from 56.63% in 2017 to 48.63% in 2022)." - emailtooltester.com Incentive: Spammers worldwide take in $200 Million a year SPAM MAIL "Direct mail marketing is a $10 billion industry in the US. 33% of all mail delivered worldwide is junk mail.Dec 15, 2023." - Healtheplanet.com SPAM PHONE CALLS Most of you don't remember landlines, before caller ID, during dinner, spam calls. We'd sometimes answer, Dad swearing. It wasn't good. Today, at least there are filters out there you setup to protect your peace of mind or time or have been pre-filtered to your pain point thresholds. Today: Nearly 25% of all phone calls are spam or fraud. "Fraudulent Robocalls to Cost Mobile Subscribers a Record $58 Billion Globally" - JuniperResearch.com (See graph) SPAM BITCOIN Incentive: Make money off Garbage in Bitcoin Any of you who support Ordinals or Inscriptions are supporting garbage into the data, junk, spam. At the end of the day, Bitcoin is a not so wide (columns) and not so long (rows) of data. Think Excel spreadsheet. A Result set. It matters because this data has to propagate all over the world for Bitcoin nodes to verify, to run the Lightning Network etc. It's annoying and it needs to be ULTRA filtered out at all costs and let these SPAMMERS go back onto other blockchains where they failed. Bitcoin has never been and wasn't built to be cool or fun. Go be cool on ADA and ETH, I heard that is where all the cool cats and frogs hang out? People who support Spam on Bitcoin are the lowest of the low, just like the spammer/scammers on email, snail mail, and phone calls. Bitcoin needs to do it right since FIAT world never was able to get it right. Further, Satoshi started out by going after email SPAM and it turned into Bitcoin. Let's prove Satoshi right (forced hand) by his vision of people will not (be able to) spend 1000 Sats for 1 Sat of space, as they are doing today. Today these guys are well funded by many bad actors who publicly are trying to break Bitcoin. We can shut them down, being true to Bitcoin being an open sourced Financial system and stopping attacks (aka SPAM) on Bitcoin can't be labeled as 'censorship.' Incentive: There is money being made, by miners too but it isn't worth it for the Bitcoin Timechain Publci Open Sourced Ledger. Listen to Mechanic/Ocean. A sucker is born every minute, there are people who think they JPG is invaluable for its permanent place in the Bitcoin Timechain. It's isn't and let's work together to simply filter out the noise from the signal. Anyone ever hear that one? PRO FILTERS, OP_Return, smaller blocksize? Ocean, whatever it takes. image
As a former BBS junkie, using the same Majordomo MLM as Satoshi way back when, I never thought I would have the opportunity to see something as cool as the beginning of the Internet. I fondly remember my buddy, in those early days, as he worked for CSCO explaining things to people. Three decades later he is still there. My favorite story he told, circa 1995, AOL and Dial up was all the rage, before 56K modems. In exasperation, to his own mother who was not understanding what the Internet was or what he did at Cisco: Him: "Mom, we make porn go faster." His mom: "Oh...okay." The way he told it in person still makes me laugh. At the time, I was buying four stocks: INTC, EMC, SUN, CSCO. INTC - Chips EMC - Storage SUN - Software CSCO - Networking I was really young, I didn't have much money but I let it all ride on these. Exactly like so many of you complaining about the old boomers buying Bitcoin or have all the money. Guess what, back then the OLD guys were not buying those Internet stocks and they all went on to 10x for me. Whatever you are buying in Bitcoin now, you are way ahead. In those days it was called a "10 bagger" and I was 4/4. I invested in what I knew is all. I am grateful for NOSTR and Bitcoin. I see the vision, I had a lot more energy back in the 1990s, before most of you were born, just keep pushing. Like I did back then and buying Bitcoin now, so in 29 years you will be the old man telling stories of the early days of Bitcoin. Always remember the "The Starfish Story." Respect to you all. image
"Fountain.fm" This is a simple note to say thank you for Fountain. I have listened to 100s of hours of podcasts on Fountain. I love it, not because I earn sats but because I love the UI/UX. - If you walk and listen it remembers where I left off - If you get a call you answer and when the call is done it goes back to where you left off (automatically) - It isn't like the dreadful YouTube app where if you step off a curb it switches to another video or dreadful ad Thank you developers, developers who have one foot in the real world. Fountain: Open Source, low budget, fantastic YouTube: Closed Source, Billions, lame
FIAT, around the world, will not be able to contain a growing in power, Bitcoin. image
** I posted this on Xter after tapping out trying to listen to developers scream at each other. It's frustrating but we can work through this and I know i can help <snip> Christ...this is awful. As a developer, can you guys communicate what you need? From coding to money to timing. Without saying F*ck or R*timage ard, you all sound like complete idiots. Use your words. Like mom taught you. Maybe not dad, mom. Step back. Think. Work together. Show the world Bitcoin is not on the FIAT standard by leading by example. There needs to be a starting point. I will start. 1) Altcoins and Ordinals need to be 'organically' pushed out, perhaps it will be fees? For now, yes, they will have the ability to trash the LAST 1.5M BTC. Who cares. Build and go forward for what Bitcoin was designed for. 2) I have high level looked into OPT-CAT, Liquid, etc. and my conclusion is the best of the best or the best of the worst is CTV. Sure, it can't do everything, who cares, we are in the Caveman (look at you guys) era of coding for the future. 3) Of course no to increase Blocksize or perhaps make it smaller 4) Of course not to increase Blocktime 5) What is the timing? If anyone puts pressure on 'this has to be done now, without being able to intelligently explain why' that is a problem. Open Source is awesome but Good God, man, it's terrible to get consensus. Thank God Satoshi was a Lone Wolf. But those days are over, so is trying to stop ordinals via fees and all filters, or I am wrong. Please tell me. I want to help, in 35 years I knew of one good BA or Project Manager, but could I help organize thoughts. It is a pipe dream to get consensus, we can't please everyone. I am ZERO intimidated, I took on Cancer, knowing nothing. That subject was a lot tougher 27 years ago and now I can go toe to toe with any expert cancer researcher. But I am a total HACK. Please. I just want a starting point. Can I help or is it impossible? What if Saylor grew up in a different household, would he be more like you guys?
Dear NOSTR/Bitcoin Core Developers, This is a thank you note. To you. Keep going. Chin up. You are critical and appreciated. As a long time code pounding developer, now off the hamster wheel, I know how many of you feel. It's tough to be a developer, the negativity, the bashing, the wet blankets thrown right away on your fire idea. I feel for you. Developers are SO important. In the restaurant, there is a term FOH/BOH (Front of House, Back of House). Developers are BOH, the cooks, the ones doing all the heavy lifting, if the food is crap, the FOH doesn't get their tips. But why don't the cooks get the tips? Developers do it because of the code, the thrill, the solutions, the logic, but most bosses never will look at your code or understand, so it is a game. Now, couple that with other Developers, I dreaded 'Code Review' at times because most of the time the feedback was utter CRAP. Damn near opinion or semantics. Ever wonder why Developers can't stand working with QA or Code Management? Seriously, when the effort to make the change is 5 seconds, but you know there will be hours of paperwork and ridiculous meetings and installs over the weekend? So, with Open Source, I know some of this won't resonate, THANK GOD, but the Bitcoin Core and NOSTR development is made of a lot more Hell, than Heaven.. You have to dig within, for the motivation, but it will probably only be intrinsic and not extrinsic (money), temporarily, perhaps never at all. It's frustrating as Hell, hearing Jack explain how none of the top Tech has given back to Open Source when Open Source code, was the top chefs in the world coding. All I can think of, all the time, when it comes to Satoshi, is thank God he didn't go through the normal Coding Life Cycle, Alpha..Beta...then production. He went right to production. I did it all the time...SHHHHHHH Sometimes you have to be a Gangsta coding BAD ASS. Thanks NOSTR/Bitcoin Core developers, I hope to give back to you some day, some how. BOH/Developer/Thankless/Chefs <--- Most appreciated, most important, but a small subset of us understand completely. Keep going. Sign me, -Odesa the Dog
Fountain is my favorite Podcast App, not only to earn sats, but if you are walking and talking on a iPhone (sorry) or Android it doesn't stop like YouTube or any other crAPP out there. The only knock is the search function is temperamental. Anyway, check out Natalie's podcast, the last 15 minutes were amazing, Lightning Round etc.
One of the greatest parts to listening to the presenters at Bitcoin Atlantis, was Saylor and Dorsey. In hindsight, they are overlapping in much of their messages. Saylor saying how Bitcoin is for everyone, Dorsey saying it too, and explaining how the more people out there using it helps everyone, Saylor repeated that on a Natalie Brunell podcast launched today. There were two parts to something Dorsey presented that hit me between the eyes: 1) This 7 minutes where he explained the importance of Open Source, how Big Tech has taken so much but never given back, starting with Linux. The importance of NOSTR and Bitcoin https://www.youtube.com/live/bikLdxCKQjc?feature=shared&t=19740 2) How he said how 'empty' online interaction really is, I am still trying to find that section. How ridiculous, numbers of followers, money, essentially all of Social Media, influencers etc. He said it way better but I suck at Video editing. I was off twiX then on NOSTR only for six months, got dumb again and went back to a hybrid of twiX and NOSTR, got dumber and got the Blue Check. I need to ultimately be on here only, but I paid for the entire year to save some stupid FIAT. Punish me. But, if you see me on twiX, not how FREAKING long my posts are though. I am the TLDR Bitcoin King. Thanks NOSTR. I do shy away a bit because I know you all don't want Bitcoin only and that is all I want to discuss, so I have the one last Social Media anonymous account on twiX. I ditched LinkedIn six months ago. I am not going back to FIAT. Very proud, grateful for so many of you, Derek, ODELL, Will, Gigi, Jack, etc. I volunteer 1000s of hours as a Cancer Patient Advocate, that is my passion offline. This is my hobby, but I want to help. Just know, Health over Wealth. There is no price tag for the first one, mental, physical, or spiritual. Wealth is a 'nice to have.'
@`jack`on stage right now being incredible with his NOSTR hat plugging the only reason he is on the stage is because of Open Source: Live Link: image
