Humans already possess a recommendation algorithm. We call it curiosity.
In everyday life, discovery emerges from conversations, friendships, timing, accidents, and chance encounters.
Most social media add another recommendation layer on top of it. Sometimes it amplifies curiosity. Sometimes it quietly replaces it.
What I've been enjoying about #NOSTR is the feeling that my own curiosity still does more of the work.
As NOSTR clients evolve, they will probably offer different philosophies of discovery—and different grades of serendipity.
The interesting question may not be whether a client recommends content.
It may be whether I remain the one deciding how I discover it.
