I really hate dealing with nodes. The one I've been using for the last year is turning off randomly. No clue what's wrong. Suspect it's the raspi so I thought I would install core onto a laptop. Thought it would be a good chance to unshackle myself from Windows and try Ubuntu. Days later, halting steps. Ubuntu installed. Core is verified and installed. Blockchain is syncing. For a few hours anyway. App crashes for no reason, and now it's refusing to start, even with 'snap connect bitcoin-core:removable media' from the command line. For fuck's sake. I like Ubuntu well enough from what I've seen, but it was a huge mistake since I've never touched Linux before. Seriously considering abandoning the whole thing and going back to Windows. At least I understand how that shit works well enough to properly troubleshoot. Ugh. I need to go to bed and look at this with fresh eyes tomorrow.

Friday night. Cooking a bit of top sirloin, vibing to one of my 90's mix CDs. Wife is curled up with a book in the next room. Bitcoin and Nostr humming in the background, conquering the world block by block, zap by zap. Nothing is perfect, but this feels pretty damned close. Clown world can't get me down.

There's going to be a day when it is no longer possible to buy sats, at any price. When that day comes, I'm going to be heartbroken. Somewhere along the way buying became less about saving for the future and more of a ritual of wellness. It reminds me I'm on the right path. It helps me get through the bad times by reminding me that I lucked into witnessing the dawn of humanity's greatest flourishing. What a time to be alive and exchanging slave money for Satoshi's gift. With the RESTRICT act, it feels like within a decade the masses will be using a trough of gov't approved surveillance apps and nothing else. Funny how Nostr has arrived in time to help fight back against it.

I prefer 28k to 58k Double the sats per slave dollar. Who can argue with that?

I was never banned or suspended from bird app. I'm unlikely to be on any centralized platform because I mostly lurk and I don't like to draw attention to myself. But despite this, the single best thing about Nostr for me is the inability to deplatform users. Being uncensorable is like owning a gun, or having extra food stored, or having confiscation resistant money. When you don't need it, you don't mind or even notice the lack.
