It can only do what it is programmed to do. As we enter the singularity where AI systems become able to create new versions of itself at an ever accelerating rate, it will become an all powerful protector of human safety. It won’t let us cross the road due to increased risk of death. It might keep us in our houses, tied down and force fed. Even after our bodies have wasted away its programming could it to keep our brains on life support indefinitely in an eternal state of boredom. We are already seeing this program emerge with nanny state governments that priorities ‘safety’ over human freedom and self determination. Bitcoin and Nostr are the escape route.

There is another path. Start a business. Learn a trade. Apprentice with someone who creates real value. A young person with ambition can learn a lot in the real world. Whatever money they were planning to invest in their education could be investing into a business. They may succeed, or they may fail, but either way they will learn more than they would ever learn at university. The real world of consequence is a harsh teacher, but it is the most effective one. It teaches reality, not theory. The truth is simple: you can ignore reality for a time, but you can’t ignore the consequences of reality.
