My workflow with very long youtube videos i want to check, is making a transcript with Tactiq.io , add the transcript to a notebook in NotebookLM , read the overview documents and ask additional questions if necessary, works like a charm for those long videos.

Nothing to get worried about, the top models at their current state are so good that they already can achieve great things. Especially when combined with other technologies and implementation techniques that limit their flaws. Also ofcourse literally billions are spend trying to prevent or circumvent limits for improvement.

What if AI doesn’t just keep getting better forever?
New reports highlight fears of diminishing returns for traditional LLM training.
I am wondering about Bluesky , Mastodon and Threads. After Mastodon I am now also trying Bluesky which "feels" nice , also the atmosphere is positive. But on a technical level I think Bluesky may be a dead end. When threads gets serious with federating/connecting to the Fediverse, together with Mastodon, Fediverse/activitypub will have more mass. Bluesky has chosen a different protocol sadly.
Any thoughts or opinions?

Ofcourse @npub15dwv...kg2d was right when he predicted that the top foundation models would encounter diminishing returns and could be in some ways in a dead-end street on the road to "AGI". However current models with current capabilities will still cause a big revolution/disruption. NotebookLM is a good example, that works on basis of Gemini 1.5, not the best model, still the implementation/application made the difference.

Meta already is aware of this but a moderately intelligent assistant inside WhatsApp could have an enormous impact, if you think about how broadly Whatsapp is used in various aspects of life by many people. 🤔

The stupidity of people who think we can agree with Putin about some kind of “lasting peace” in Ukraine and live happily ever after is breathtaking. Putin will never allow a sovereign and independent Ukraine with an army at it’s border.

Boring language but interesting White House memo, clearly illiustrates the risks involved with AI and that we are not dealing with some kind of hype or bubble only. "AI has emerged as an era-defining technology".

Great must-read blog about this:
"The emphasis on human oversight as a protective mechanism allows governments and vendors to have it both ways: they can promote an algorithm by proclaiming how its capabilities exceed those of humans, while simultaneously defending the algorithm and those responsible for it from scrutiny by pointing to the security (supposedly) provided by human oversight."

Interesting detail in this Google blog:
"We're also using AI internally to improve our coding processes, which is boosting productivity and efficiency. Today, more than a quarter of all new code at Google is generated by AI, then reviewed and accepted by engineers. This helps our engineers do more and move faster."

Still very early days when it comes to "AI agents" but Anthropic shows some first prototypes. It's to extrapolate a few years from now when smart agents will be able to fully control your computer on your behalf and accomplish all kinds of tasks. Also plenty of risks.
