This tiny fire made a nice bed of coals for cooking last night. I dug a trench down ~9" at the back end of the fire pit, tapering to the front. Nice for getting a lot of hot coals, then pulling to the front to cook. View quoted note → I think I'll rebuild it sideways so I have two 'burners'

Yesterday I saw a news report about the air ambulance being sent out to a crash North of town. You see things like that and hope for the best, not thinking it will have any effect on your life. This morning I saw an obituary for an old friend. He made it to Calgary, but passed through the night. This one was a bit closer to home. Rest in peace Al 🙏
