GM 🔆 My job has recently taken me deep into some of the largest biotech facilities in Maryland and Virginia. Many, if not most, of their buildings are empty, or in decommissioning processes. New construction everywhere without apparent demand.

I'm derigging the family sailboat for scrap today. As I drilled drain holes in her hull, I felt the sadness of her final parting along with the regret of having abandoned her a decade ago. Her mast will probably become a flagpole on the family farm. Her keel, bullets, maybe. Teach kids to sail. Teach them to go with the wind, and they can go anywhere.
