This is why perhaps I never made the cut as a wildlife filmmaker. Hey look there’s a Wallaby, reach for the camera. Oh the subject has vanished.
There is a brief glimpse though.
Whipsnade Zoo is great though, very much want to go back for another visit.

Over the years I’ve got involved with a lot of creative pursuits and photography is by far one of my biggest passions. I’m not overly interested in large vistas and that’s probably because we live nowhere near any mountains, so becoming a landscape photographer as an amateur or a professional, has never been an option.
I tend to look for closeup details, like this kind of thing, the ephemeral things in our world. You just can’t beat fishing nets, buoys, boats, rope because the textures, faded colours versus vibrant colours, all make for interesting images.
In some cases tell a story.

A hedgerow with a door? No just an entry for #curiousdoors my 600th project, I’ll never complete or plainly forget about.
Feel free to join in though. Seen any curious doors?

A view from my boat on another trip, a different river. In this case the great River Wye, near Symonds Yat, close to the Welsh border. To get there you crisscross the border, from England to Wales and back into England again!
We had just run the rapids, eddied out at the bottom and taking a breather at the bottom when I took this photo.
This was a practice run, taster session some weeks before we headed out to Slovenia.
I’m looking forward to the next adventure right now 😀

It’s been a few weeks since we returned from Slovenia and I miss this place. It was stunning and i have fond memories of the trip, the experiences we had on the river Sǒca. The company was great too. My wife and I want to go back and visit Lake Bled properly.

Sharing a few more photos from my camera roll. We’ve been exploring lots of churches recently for a photographic project and discover lots of great architectural details. Doors are always a great topic! I adored this one especially.

Went blackberry picking yesterday and they still need a little more time to grow. Lots of small berries but they tasted ok. Will gather some more later.

A performance from last week using my iPad running loopy pro version 2. I’ve hooked up my Torso Instruments T1 as the main MIDI controller sending notes etc to the iPad on different channels. One synth and a drum machine. Nice and simple.
Was great to try out Camo Studio for the recording and the ability to add a Picture in Picture video of myself, streaming style.
Boat textures - wandering along the seafront yesterday at Hayling Island, spotting old boats and their textures. Great for photography. So kind of them to leave these old boats for us to take pictures of!

Our kids have a new kitten. Thankfully they have their own house and their own furniture. The granddaughters have called him Rhino and he’s definitely cute. Shy at the moment but I think he’s just taking it all in…. Then chaos!!!!!!!

The sunset the other night was incredible. Took this on my iPhone as we went for a walk and it did actually rain. A rare thing at the moment but I know damn well, autumn and winter will be a washout!
