WAYMORE My Dad is a taxi driver in San Francisco. He loves driving around the city, like he genuinely enjoys it. He stuck with yellow cab, even when his medallion plunged in value. If he sees anyone under the age of seventy flagging him down he knows their phone battery is out. Never went for the driving apps—doesn’t like them at all. He loves Waymo, though. He says they are so polite: they give you the right of way, recognize when you are giving them the right of way, don’t honk, shout, or argue. He said he waves to them, sometimes. I guess he likes them more than most other San Francisco drivers. He said he’s fine with them taking his job. He’s about to retire anyway, but still, he’s being sincere.
