Privacy is wasteful if your goal is total surveillance and control. In general no functional unit be it an app or a government agency should have any more data on people than essential to its function and accessing it should be only by vetted persons in that function. This is true in private sector and in the past has been sought in public sector as well. This action by the federal government makes all of us unsafe.
Congress put many protections on various types of government in place. Why aren't they raising hell that their decisions which belong to Congress are being overturned?

Southern Baptists target porn, sports betting, same-sex marriage and ‘willful childlessness’
Southern Baptists are meeting this week in Dallas to vote on resolutions targeting pornography, sports betting, same-sex marriage, sex, gender, and family issues based on divine creation.
This meeting marks the 40th anniversary of the 1985 Dallas convention, a decisive conservative takeover influencing current resolutions that reflect long-standing Southern Baptist positions.
The convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, its public policy arm, advocates against abortion, transgender identity, and supports legislating morality despite internal calls for defunding it.
In 2024, the Southern Baptist Convention experienced its 18th straight year of membership decline, shrinking by 2% to 12.7 million members; however, baptism rates have increased beyond levels seen before the pandemic.
The resolutions and debates suggest continued conservative influence in the denomination with implications for political engagement, pro-natalist policies, and opposition to the Supreme Court's same-sex marriage ruling.

Handmaid's Tale on the March. 20% of pregnancies by some figures end in miscarriage naturally. And what business is it of the State. None.

A West Virginia Prosecutor Is Warning Women that a Miscarriage Could Lead to Criminal Charges\
A West Virginia prosecutor warned in 2025 that people who miscarry might face criminal charges under broad state statutes.
This warning follows the 2022 Dobbs decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, which has emboldened some prosecutors to pursue cases related to pregnancy losses.
Between June 2022 and June 2023, more than 200 US cases involved pregnant people facing charges linked to pregnancy, including miscarriages and birth outcomes.
Raleigh County Prosecutor Tom Truman stated, “It's a different world now,” and emphasized prosecutors’ discretion, while noting he would not personally prosecute miscarriage cases.
Experts warn that involving law enforcement after miscarriage can be harmful, urging support for healthcare access rather than criminal investigations into reproductive events.

FCC chair launches investigation into Disney over DEI
The Federal Communications Commission has notified The Walt Disney Company of an investigation into its diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to ensure compliance with equal employment opportunity regulations.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr stated he is reviewing Disney's diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, mentioning concerns similar to those in ongoing investigations at Comcast and Verizon.
In response to the investigation, a Disney spokesperson said, 'We are reviewing the Federal Communications Commission's letter, and we look forward to engaging with the commission to answer its questions.'
The FCC's scrutiny comes after former President Donald Trump signed an executive order to end diversity, equity, and inclusion practices at U.S. Corporations.
This is a tyrant. He is clearly at least attempting a chilling effect on legal action against his administration's actions of questionable legality. That and practicing exactly the kind of retaliatory lawfare he railed against in the past.
Federal judge temporarily blocks Trump’s executive order targeting Jenner & Block
A federal judge temporarily blocked Donald Trump's executive order against the law firm Jenner & Block, stating it likely violates multiple amendments, including the First, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments.
Jenner & Block argued that Trump's order was unconstitutional and aimed at intimidating lawyers who oppose the administration.
The judge found that Trump's order likely violates the First, Fifth, and Sixth Amendments, noting the potential chilling effect on the legal profession's duties.
Legal expert Adam Klasfeld reported that the judge described Trump's executive order as 'disturbing' and 'troubling,' especially regarding its attack on pro bono practice.
Hopefully the SC declines or tells Trump to go to hell. Enemy aliens does not cover a country we are not at war with or snatching people up without even checking who they are and their circumstances before flying them to one of the worst prisons on the planet. This was not "deportation". Deportation is to your home country. If this could be done with due process then it can be done to anyone including US citizens.
Trump asks US Supreme Court to intervene in deportations fight
The Trump administration requested the Supreme Court to allow deportations of Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador under an 18th-century law, amid ongoing legal disputes.
The Supreme Court appeal follows a rejection by a federal appeals court regarding the administration's plea.
A panel of appellate judges maintained an order blocking deportations of migrants based on the Alien Enemies Act.
The case assesses President Donald Trump's authority concerning mass deportations.
Apparently the Trumpster thinks he is the measure of American Ideological Purity now. Such a sad fellow.
Trump order targets ‘divisive narratives’ in Smithsonian museums
President Trump signed an executive order targeting funding for Smithsonian programs that he claims have "divisive narratives" and "improper ideology."
Trump stated there has been a "concerted and widespread" effort over the last decade to change American history using a "distorted narrative."
Vice President JD Vance will oversee the effort to remove "improper ideology" from the Smithsonian Institution, including its museums.
The executive order emphasizes that museums should be places of learning, not venues for "ideological indoctrination or divisive narratives.
