Lord of you're five foot 3 And you're three hundred pounds... Perhaps you've been impacted by the same forces that he's identified (working class poor, terrible food options, sleep deprived, etc.)? Everyone makes their own choices and is responsible for themselves - BUT blaming obese people for being addicted to shitty food is failing to see the connection to the broader themes of all of our modern lives. Obesity is bad in this country and there are systemic issues that logically contribute to it. The song resonates with me as much as anyone, but isn't always interesting when you can see that someone only sees a part of the puzzle, knowing that at some point they stopped the causal analysis and picked a point to draw a relationship / root of the problem? And are now blaming those very people as a scapegoat in the same category as the identified villains? Lord, it's a damn shame. ...I hope someone has helped him understand that these folks, while yes, they could have and can make better choices - are also victims of the same struggles that he explicitly calls out, and they are related. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
