TIL Croesus did a treasury company pump and dump. It’s like if you get popular enough, the temptation to scam is inevitably too hard to resist.

This guy is a genius and gets almost no views. Multiple layers of leverage just in private equity. I like how since he comes from big money, he knows what life is like for the guys running the funds, which contributes to the structural problems.

You were so cavalier about the risks of both not fixing the taproot exploits and blowing open the opreturn, but NOW you’re so concerned about the risks of doing Core’s job for them? GFY

@Matthew Kratter In your Bitcoin Matrix pod with Cedric, several times you said that ~500 out of 100k nodes signaled for BIP148. I thought that sounded off, so after looking into it, it’s more like 500-1000 nodes out of 5,000-7,000 total nodes. Which makes more sense because there are barely 100,000 nodes today, 9 years later. It’s important because 0.5% of nodes is definitely not enough for a UASF to work. Based on those numbers, the % of BIP148 nodes ranged from 7%-20%.

Congratulations, you found the game theoretically optimal influencer position to protect yourself: be against spam and for Bitcoin as money, like BIP110’s ethos and most of what it does, but still not support it. BIP110 wins: it’ll look like you supported it BIP110 loses or causes problems: it’ll look like you didn’t support it If not now, when? If not us, who? View quoted note →
