The President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, announces that social media will be banned for minors under 16 years old: "Starting next week, my government will implement the following actions: Firstly, we will amend the law in Spain to hold the executives of platforms legally accountable for many of the infringements that occur on their sites. Secondly, we will turn algorithmic manipulation and the amplification of illegal content into a new criminal offence.
