Information stored in the form of quantum bits (as opposed to classical bits) cannot be copied, according to the QM no-cloning theorem. Which means a quantum database is effectively a bearer instrument. If there exists some variation of the idea of PoW that is stored in quantum bits, then it could serve as money. No need for a blockchain. idk what constitutes work in this scenario, or how it is proven without destroying the information, or whether a suitable Schelling point exists to help answer these questions. Maybe time to read Feynman’s old textbook where he proposes the idea of quantum computation.

I wonder if the no-cloning theorem of quantum mechanics could offer a non-blockchain based solution to the double spend problem 🤔
