when will you act upon your knowledge?
Sometimes one experiences uncertainty in a matter and immediately one's mind likes to fill the gaps. It races ahead of facts, imagining future disasters and tries to solve everything at once. Soon, anxiety starts spiralling. But those horror stories are just imagination, not evidence. So the issue is missing information. Until it arrives, trust Allah, do what is within your control, and don't mistake imagination for evidence.
It's not what Eid looks like in some families with lots of relatives visiting and everyone celebrating together, but I still love Eid, Dhul Hijjah, the six days of Shawwal, and Ramadan.
I keep thinking about how Muslims all over the world are worshipping Allah during these days, seeing everyone being more productive and reminding each other more than usual to do good. The atmosphere is suddenly very serious and focused.
It is like the ummah becomes visibly synchronized, which makes it feel like we are one family striving towards the same goal together. I used to feel lonely but I think I reframed it so much that to me these days are now the best.
Sneak Peak
I walked out of the tall office building into the bustling evening city. It’s 1h past my shift but what can you do? These meetings don’t seem to end, and our partners couldn’t figure it out. I looked at my phone, it vibrated endlessly in my pocket with new sprint notifications, bugs and someone asking whether I could review a merge request before tomorrow morning... Subhan’Allah. Enough. I dropped the phone in the cup holder and drove home.
