A Sunday morning tradition with my boys is making waffles and watching Studio Ghibli movies together. Today we’ll use the maple syrup purchase on Nostr with a zap. 🧇🧈🍁
My Neighbour (Neighbor) Totoro Trailer (English)
Spent yesterday planning a family spring break trip to 🇫🇷🇮🇹🇪🇬. We got the itineraries all worked out and booked all the flights and tickets. All good until I remember I need to check my boys passports. 👀 Do some quick math and realize the passports will expire in less than six month before we leave Egypt. Oops. 😬 Gonna need to get new passports after the Costa Rica 🇨🇷 trip.
The badges thing is neat. It looks like the excitement has turned back to zaps.
A thought I had was that it seems like badge awarding should work like a message. Does badge awarding honor a user’s mute list? It’s probably fine now with a small friendly community, but anyone can make a badge and it is displayed wether you accept it or not. Some people have already awarded badges that weren’t very nice, etc.
I’m going to claim my first badge, Girl Next Door.
I’ve seen a few client apps support display of badges, but do any also include features for creation, awarding, and accepting? Or is it that currently only on badges.page?
One of the fun parts of early Twitter was people using the hashtag #followfriday #ff and listing users others should follow and why. A little corny, but better than the For You algorithm.
Luckily we don’t bank at SVB (one of the times I’m happy to be with “mega bank”) I empathize with startups and companies who need to make payroll and have no access to accounts. Running a startup is stressful enough.
Just had lunch with a friend in Portland and showed her Nostr. She smiled and nodded. She never really used Twitter so that was not an interesting use case. Then I showed her how to ⚡️ zap a note and the lightbulb went on.💡It’s still very early.
